If you use GetIRC client your login name is exposed to everyone when connecting to IRC Network. The program like all the other IRC Client should have a text box to allow the user type in their ident. There is no reason the users account on the Mac should be exposed to the IRC Networks that you’re connecting to. It’s a clear violation of privacy and should not be used until the author updated the program.

This is the most cryptic useless software I’ve ever seen. A complete waste of money. No manual anywhere to be found. Needlessly tedious forms to fill out to get support. Apple really needs to put more effort into screening the software that’s allowed to appear here because stuff like this makes the app store too risky to bother with at all.

This is a mash up of Limechat and some random snippets of code from a few other IRC clients. Do not waste your money on this. If you want something with a lot of features try Textual, if you want something lightweight try Limechat. This app isn't worth the time or effort to setup.
