Description

Batch-crop a hundred scanned photos with one click. Add captions and metadata to digital photos. VERY easy to use. Try it out free! (Full version requires purchase)

Two powerful photo tools: One speeds up scanning of printed photos, the other makes digital photos easy to organize:

- SNIP to batch-crop dozens of scanned photos with one click
- TAG to add captions and metadata to your digital photos

SNIP is quite amazing. A blessing if you are scanning hundreds (or thousands) of printed photos. Scan multiple photos per frame with any scanner, digital camera or smartphone. Batch all the scans and import into SnipTag. They'll ALL be detected, cropped and saved with one click.

- Automatically crops up to a HUNDRED scans with one click
- Preserves image format and resolution (PPI/DPI)
- Handles scans in JPG, HEIC, TIFF, PNG and BMP formats- Much faster and more accurate than more famous programs

TAG is indispensable for photos you've taken with your digital camera as well as those you've scanned. Edit file names and dates. Add locations, descriptions, keywords and much more. With keyboard or voice dictation. Add captions as well as metadata in one step - making your photos much more fun to browse, and much easier to find/search.

- Do metadata editing for individual photos or in batch mode
- Easily enrich photos with who, what, when, where details
- EXIF/IPTC tags enable easy organization, retrieval of photos- Imprint captions (date, place, description) under the photos

SnipTag's powerful metadata editor supports more than 25 IPTC and EXIF metadata tags. Make your digital library of thousands of photos easy to manage and search.

SnipTag's Metadata Viewer shows detailed EXIF and IPTC data for every photo. And its Photo Finder can quickly retrieve the photos you need.

SnipTag gives you full control of your photo memories. It does all the processing locally, on your Mac. Nothing is ever uploaded to any server - assuring you of complete privacy. When done, you can export photos to any computer, external drive or cloud storage.

It's a unique, useful app like no other; and dead simple to use. It's brought to you by the people who created Pic Scanner - world's first mobile app for auto-cropping multiple scanned photos - and its acclaimed successor, Pic Scanner Gold. Good when it actually works

I've been using this to extract photos from scanned scrapbook pages. First, it only automatically recognizes square/rcatngular shapes and only if there is a clear contrast between the photo and background. So anything backed with paper or oval has to be snipped by hand. Then, it shuts down as I add a new scanned image to the workspace about every other page I add. Now it is quitting while tring to hand snip photos on a particular page. When it works, it does a nice job. When it doesn't work, well, it is frustrating.

When it worked, it was decent enough! But now it crashes

I tried this on a subsample of my images. Maybe a dozen. And it worked. Not perfectly, it couldn't nail the cropping dead on. But it was close enough that clean up work would be tolerable for the few hundred images I had to parse now (and possibly a lot more later). I paid for the full version, I like to support developers creating unique niche apps. Plus the cost is neglible considering how long it will take me to do this manually! But like magic, it almost quit working then. I need to run any Canon RAW images through a converter to make them TIF first. But they are larger files. And the app hangs before it even gets to 20. So I tried the Jpeg verision, and it still crashes. I am very disappointed.

If you are looking at this app it is close to what you need. But I can't say for sure it will deliver.

Developer Response ,

Hi. It's a very stable app so crashes are puzzling. Please delete and reinstall the app, then try submitting your scans again. Hopefully this will resolve the issue. If problem persists, please email us and we will assist further. (Follow-up dated 15 June: Hello, is the problem resolved or not? Please email us so we may guide you.)

Could have been so much better

Not at all very intuitive, which makes the app painful to use. Why the creators did not make the addition of captions clearer as to instruction is unfortunate because the app can do exactly what I wanted. I need to take notes to remember what I did to perform the intended task.

Hi. Please email us so we can better understand what wasn’t clear, so that we can improve this aspect?
