Awesome cubing app
Very nice app with lot of game modes and contains also beginner part with basic solving algorithm (which I learn now). I really recommend it for begginers like me who want to know how rubik works. I have only two things which are quite uncomfortable but otherwise overall it is very enjoyable experience. :-) One thing is: in case of total beginner like me, there is no option to learn repetatively only the right or the left hand move (like show that pattern indefinetively, till i want to end that) to achive a right smooth moves without any errors or i miss here some infinite scrambling with measure gauge about how difficult this current state of scramble is…. and i would welcome some tutorials about How move/swap some piece to wanted location without changing other positions of pieces (some optimal algortihms for that). And the second is: this quite expensive cube needs recalibration every few moves (like every minute, so i must interrupt solving, put the green and white centers in right directions) and then continue in solving which is kind annoying (sometimes i must recalibrating IMU - at least two times in one solve, because the app recommend it) to see the cube again in the same position in my phone like I hold it in my hands. (so at least this defect forces me to not watch into phone so often). I dont know if it is normal or better put it into shop service for repair? And one last thing, it would be good if cube stop blinking when it is full recharged. However, keep up the good work. :-)
Nice but missing lot of things
App works nicely as a companion for GoCube. It tracks moves almost perfectly. But for slightly advanced beginners like me it has lot of issues and I would love to see this improved:
1) leaderboards absolutely does not make sense for most of people. It show just first 1000 people with Times around 10 seconds. I thing there are thousands of people who can not even thing about time like this. Much more usable would be showing of leaderboards of players on similar level. Here there can be some motivation to improve just to beat that guy from other part of planet with time one second faster. Please this should not be so dificult to do.
2) academy is also almost useless. Algo book is not algo book at all. It is just beginners academy again. It would be much better to put there some real algos and the most important: way to TRAIN THOSE ALGOS. This hardware is like magic and it would be possible to do very simple training program for it.
If these very important things will be added to application then it would be really usefull. Right now it is good just for simplier tracking of time and that is not enough for so good piece of hardware. It is shame that app actually did not get any major update sice i bought GoCube almost 3 years ago. :(
