FAQ:
Q: Can I create or edit sheet music with this app?
A: Unlike Guitar Pro for Windows and Mac, this app does not let you change the notation in an existing Guitar Pro file, or create sheet music in standard notation. It is however possible to edit a single-track tablature with the NotePad tool and export your work into .gpx and .gp formats to finish your composition in Guitar Pro 6 or 7. Editing a drum track is not available with the NotePad tool.

Great value for money
I’ve been using guitar pro on iOS for the past two years, mainly when I travel and I want to practise new songs on my ipad. The performance of the app is consistent and it’s a great value for money. I give only four stars because it really needs some keyboard support. Play/stop using the space bar is key and time-efficient when you play the same part over and over again. Even though the ipad is designed as a touch device using the cursor or your finger feels laborious.
Way too basic
Writing this as an iPad user.
Been using guitar pro on desktop since about 2005, for windows and macOS. I’ve used other software for my transcriptions, but always go back to gp because it’s what I’m used to, and it’s easy to use. Currently running version 8 on my computers.
This version is not that. Not even close. It’s basically just a reader/player for tabs you’ve made on desktop or downloaded elsewhere.
It does that fairly well, but still comes with frustrations. Like not being able to add iCloud Drive as a location for tabs. If that’s where you store your tabs, you have to add them individually. And I can’t hide the fretboard. It’s just in the way. Why no option to hide it?
For the price, honestly I don’t think it’s worth it. It should probably be a freebie if you have the desktop version. It’s clear the devs focus a lot more on the desktop version. But I really think this is a missed opportunity. I’d love to write my tabs on the go on my iPad. And I’d love to view my desktop tabs properly, as it really simplifies the layout.
If this had the same functionality as the desktop version, I would happily spend a good amount of money on buying it. I’m sure a lot of others would to.
Will you guys ever make this happen?
For now I’ll stick to using the desktop version through Remote Desktop for my iPad.
Nope
No manual, no instructions, no help files. Nothing. Mystery. I need the app to be able to scroll horizontally. Doing so would allow me to record the screen and add scrolling tab on the bottom of my tutorial videos without messing with the PC at all, by just using my Ipad and Lumafusion. Even better, we need a zoom function and a fullscreen mode for the score for sight reading, this while the score is scrolling, horizontally, a line at a time. Once I see these features, I will change this review into a 5 star one.
Also, we need a DIAGRAM GENERATOR, where I can create a diagram QUICKLY and save it as a image, so that I can use the diagrams in my teachings. In other words, we need the program to be fit for TEACHING ONLINE too
