Love this app - tags on iPhone would be perfect though

I love this app. The desktop version has revolutionised my way of working in my day job. I never print papers for meetings anymore, taking notes whilst docked to the document, add tags and use templates to track deadlines etc. It’s absolutely fantastic.
This app version is wonderful - I find it more intuitive and convenient than Evernote and Bear. But I wish there was one or two tiny additions. Being able to tag notes would be brilliant as I use, amongst other things, I have a huge collection of recipes. Being able to tag them would help narrow the choices when I particularly fancy something Mexican for instance.
The other thing I’d love is to link between notes. So for instance I have a section for photos of meals I’ve tried - being able to link back to the recipe would be perfect. Overall though this is one of my favourite apps :)

Microsoft has abandoned OneNote

It's with a heavy heart that I have finally decided to give up on OneNote, similar to how the developers have done so these pasts 2 years. What was once a staple piece of software for any note taking enthusiast, is now an abandoned tool with countless issues and no sign of any of them being fixed or any essential features being implemented. The app has issues, such as a second delay between when you tap and when the application decides to listen to your input, tables that were created on pc glitching on mobile, and sync issues. I have reported several bugs, and none of them have been fixed months later. Why? Because Microsoft decided to kill the only and only place where you could submit feedback (uservoice). Not only does this mean literal application breaking bugs do not get fixed anymore (even though Microsoft pushes an update every month with nothing apparent new), but no new user requested features has been acknowledged and implemented. In the past 2 years, there have only been two new features. Dark mode, and a pride month theme. 2 years for just 2 themes bug fixes which aren't noticeable. Meanwhile note taking competitors have utilised those 700+ days to add new features, content, and greatly enhance their user experience. With the release of a new alternative that I will not name, I have decided to jump ship and take my notes to a platform where they will receive love and have a bigger future than OneNote will ever have.

Why so slow

Using an iPad10.5 Pro, after upgrading from an iPad Air2 I expected Onenote to accelerate. O accept it may well be my fault but as an archivist and researcher I search and records numerous subjects. Subsequently this has grown to at least 50 different notebooks. Every opportunity to record a note or link I relied Onenote to be there when needed. Each notebook relates to a specific subject and sometimes data is cross-linked to another analytic reference.
As with the former iPad Air, things began to slow down and before long after spending time online I would want to place a link and comment in an associated notebook. This became unusable as I was forced to wait whilst some feature (I assume checking for any updates) took forever. I the end I was forced to restart. I can't understand why such a delay occurs. Surely validating in real-time would eliminate any need for this cycle and the working page should be instantly available. It may be my fault even if I was using 100 notebooks it is difficult to comprehend why functionality stops, after all the number of notes must not be a factor, therefore the current page is the only relevant issue. I watch as each notebook is processed. unnecessary agony denies a simple update with wasting any time. The only other issue may be transient memory but using the browser and Onenote alone, the problem remains. (e&eo accepted)
