Amphibians

This authoritative and easy-to-use guide features 181 North American amphibian species, with more than 300 photographs, 60 frog calls, range maps, and more.

Utilizing the latest iOS technologies, you can:

• Search by name (common and scientific) using either keyboard or verbal search systems; type or speak all or part of an amphibian’s name to search for its detailed account.
• Organize species alphabetically or taxonomically.
• Search by family, shape, habitat, region, color, size—or any combination.
• Touch to open any or all of the text sections, maps, and sounds, and to enlarge photos.
• Take notes and upload photos to keep a digital journal of your observations and share them with family, friends, and our growing online community.

Each species account contains:

• description with identification details
• habitat description
• range information
• range map
• voice descriptions and recordings of 60 frog calls
• discussion of the species’ behavior and other notable characteristics
• Family and Order information
• photos of similar species with links to those species’ accounts

Okay, but missing tons of species

Doesn’t include a multitude of species, e.g. Fowler’s toad, upland chorus frog, many more. Also lumps copes gray tree frog and eastern gray tree frog into one species, with same calls, which is incorrect. Bought to help me study for a practical, but ended up not being able to use it due to inaccuracies.

What happened to the app

I purchased this app in April 2021 and now all I get when I open the app is the opening screen. What happened? I liked the app, but wouldn’t recommend it as there is currently no content provided.

Doesn’t run on iOS 15

Big disappointment to see that this app doesn’t run on iOS 15.x after having paid for the app! Shame on Fieldstone Developers (or whomever it was that developed the app).
