Laurenn uwu ,

!!

very easy to use, writes amiibos quickly with no issues !! but you have to pay if you wanna make more than 2 different amiibo characters :(
update : nevermind ! i read another review
BUT, i found a bug (??)
i deleted the app on accident ! so i redownloaded it and went to the library. ( i previously had 2 files with amiibos on them ) but then, when i opened the app, they were gone !! when i hit the plus icon to make another file to replace the other ones, it askes me to pay for placiibo+. is there a way to fix this ? or , do i have to pay because i essentially used the said ' free trial ' that was given ?

Hi Lauren,

Thanks for your review.

That’s not a bug, if you’ve used up your free trail then you’ll have to upgrade. It would kinda defeat the purpose if deleting the app would reset it.

Consistently Inconsistent

This app tests my patience every time I use it. I currently have an iPhone XS and purchased the full version after the free trial went well, I’m not sure this was the best use of $15.

Since then I have had mixed results, most of them aggravating. Some NFC chips write instantly but most take numerous tries. Keep in mind this has rendered some of my NFC chips useless as they can only be written once, and this has cost me more money. There are times where no matter what I try this app will not work but if I close and restart the app it works. I wish the app wouldn’t say the write was successful after a certain amount of time if it didn’t write anything, it seems to do this after 30 seconds or so of being on the write screen, and it is misinforming and very frustrating please correct that. I’ve purchased a different device that is only for writing and reading NFC chips and it instantly reads the NFC chips I have. I know my device is not the newest but on other NFC apps my phone will pick up on the chips instantly as well, much like the Nintendo Switch does. This is definitely an issue with the app, not my device or the NFC chips I am using.

Overall if you have a lot of patience and want a below average experience this app will get the job done, but it will take 3x the amount of time as some competitors and is also more expensive.

Thanks for your honest review Joe

We think that some of your frustrations stem from some misunderstandings (some of which were actively working on in improving).
Like for example the notion that NFC tags that didn’t end up successful are unusable.

We’ve written a troubleshooting article that covers a lot of what you’ve mentioned here: https://support.poseidontech.app/hc/en-us/articles/360061755013-What-to-do-if-you-can-t-successfully-write-to-tags-anymore-

However, feel free to reach out to us. You can do this either through the built in email option or by submitting a support request in our help center: https://support.poseidontech.app

The built in email option will automatically attach some helpful information an logs that will help us resolve your issues.

We look forward to having the chance of providing you with a note consistent experience.

Great idea flawed execution

I want to write more that 2 amiibo on, I can have a total of 10 villagers on my island at once, isn’t the whole purpose of amiibo cards meant to be that villager hunting doesn’t have to happen?
Why can’t I delete a one of binary, it doesn’t hurt you, if I am really invested then I will buy more
Slots, I just downloaded the wrong villagers! What am I going to do now? This is a short sided response to a problem that isn’t even there.
I understand that to keep this app up you need money, I get that, but I already watch adds every 10 seconds. Why do I have to pay to delete space? That would be like having to pay money to put trash in the trash can. That doesn’t make a lot of sense does it?
If you could respond and help me figure out what I am not understanding, It would be greatly appreciated.

Developer Response ,

placiibo allows you to import two binary files to try out the app so you can decide if it’s to your liking. Mind you, this doesn’t mean you get two slots, instead you get two imports.

You can make unlimited NFC tags of those two binary files for testing purposes.

To prevent users that are testing out the app from locking themselves out of the trial and end up with a situation in which they can’t test the app, we’ve disabled the option to delete entries during the trial phase. This option becomes available once upgraded to placiibo+.

As for the ads, those are in place in case a user doesn’t have the need to import more than two binaries. That way the user gets use out of placiibo in exchange for a minor contribution. Once upgraded to placiibo+ the ads will disappear.

We’re sorry to hear that you ended up importing undesired binaries, however it is for exactly mistakes like yours that we set the limit to two instead of one. The thought process being that if a user would make one mistake, they still have another chance to test out placiibo with the desired binary.

We’re confident you have enough options to try out placiibo and we’re looking forward to your support should you find that placiibo offers what you need.
