Eat great food. Save money. Protect the planet.
- Eat great food
Buy delicious unsold surplus food as take away. Order and pay in the app.
- Save money
Find great food deals where you pay half the price and pick up your food as take-away. And you don't have to cook too!
- Save the environment
Help create a more sustainable society by reducing food waste.
This is how it works:
- Food is uploaded to Karma
Restaurants, grocery stores, bakeries and cafes upload their surplus food at specific times, often between 2pm and 6pm.
- You buy the food
You buy the food you want directly in the Karma app at a lower price.
- You pick up the food
You pick up the food on location as take away. Show your order to the personnel in order to get your food. Enjoy your lunch or dinner!
- Follow your favourite restaurants, cafes and grocery stores to get notified when they have food you can buy. Perhaps you want to know if a restaurant has a meal that you can buy for dinner after work? You'll get a push notification as soon as a place you like has food that you can buy!
The latest version of Karma is here! This update includes improvements that we hope will make your food rescuing endeavors even more rewarding!
As always, you can reach us at http://karma.life/contact-en if you have any feedback: we're all ears!

Good Idea but please expand from just London
Cambridge recently got TooGoodToGo but after trying it I really wish Karma was available here because competition is good and Karma tells you what you’re buying which I think reduces waste more than buying something you potentially don’t like. Please think about expanding from just London in the UK 🌿
Been using it for a few days, disappointing app
The app says they show food sold in half the regular price because it’s surplus/unsold food from restaurants and cafes, but when I looked at the prices, it’s seems like they are still at full price. A slice of chocolate cake for £2? One Butter croissant for £1.50? Grapefruit Juice for £2.50? You can get better deals in Tesco. This app is clearly being paid by all this establishments to trick people into thinking they are buying half priced food and saving the environment, when the food is clearly still at full price. I knew this was too good to be true. Will delete this app in a few days if I don’t see better deals.
Developer Response ,
Hi there, and thanks for your review!
One of our most central policies is that every item that our partners upload must be discounted by at least 50%. If you ever discover any items that violate this, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can rectify the situation as soon as possible -- we take this very seriously!
That being said, food waste isn't a problem that is limited to low-cost chains, even Michelin star restaurants struggle with this issue, and we at Karma are proud to work with partners across the price spectrum! That means that, as a user, you get gourmet grub for very reasonable prices, and cheap food for, well, 50% of cheap 😉
We sincerely hope you find some food to your liking soon!
Personally I think this app is a great idea.
However, by the looks of things this app is only great if you live in London or are around that area.... I believe money made from the app or freedom of money should be spent on things such as student ambassadors.. if you are looking to hire student ambassadors from Wales please do get in contact with myself or reply with a form of contact that I can get in touch with.
I’m a university student studying Business and management, and would love to provide/ support this cause.

Thank you for your feedback! We are hoping to expand to areas outside London during this year.
We actually have an ambassador program where wonderful engaged people like yourself can contribute to creating the first zero food waste generation! We would love it if you dropped us an email on email@example.com so you can connect with the person responsible for that!
