If i could give Crunchyroll 3.5 stars I would—but since that’s not possible, I’m giving it a 4. The app works well and has a huge selection of anime, but there are some big letdowns. Popular anime like Tokyo Ghoul aren’t even available, and some shows aren’t even complete. For example, One Piece starts at season 13, episode 892—like seriously? That’s a huge chunk of the series missing. It’s kinda frustrating when you pay for a service and can’t even watch full shows from the beginning. Crunchyroll has potential for sure, but gaps like these really bring the experience down.

I don’t know if it’s a region thing but there aren’t really that many options to choose from. I mean sure some bigger names are available where I’m from but if you had to boast being the largest anime library, you would expect wider options— especially those hard find classics. I’ve also noticed that availability of series’ leans more towards the male dominated demographic which is nice and all but what about your female audience? I like shounen, but your repertoire for shoujo or any female targeted collection is quite lacking. ALSO, is there any way to clean up the continue watching section? Sometimes I try out watching a few episodes if I find an anime interesting but end up dropping after realizing that it’s not exactly my cup of tea. It kind of gets annoying when I try to remove it from my continue watching list only for it to pop out again with the next episode listed down.

WATCHLIST ISSUE: When I installed and paid membership, I immediately added to my watchlist but only 3 showed up. I tried going back to the anime and checked the watchlist "flag" but it was enabled. I tried removing one that showed up in the watchlist to make way for the one I wanted to show up more, thinking maybe there's a limit of only 3 to be shown there (which doesn't make sense), but nothing happened. Such a hassle to search because on to the next issue...SEARCH ISSUE: Anime's won't show up when searching unless you search for th COMPLETE NAME. This is the biggest issue, and to be honest, a disappointment given that it's a basic app functionality (can't you guys try to add tags or keywords to make searching better?). I see a lot of people commenting about not finding their fave animes but I think this is what's causing them to not find what they're looking for.

I always encounter various technical problems. My account is logged out automatically, I log in too many times in a day and it’s a pain. I don’t want to log out obviously to keep track where I finished watching. Then the subtitles either do not sync with the audio or absent even if I set it to English. When I try opening the settings menu, I see subtitles are off and I try to set it to English again but when I tap on it, it does not open the options for subtitles. Sometimes the video and audio stops and I can still see the subtitles are still continuing. The video is not working sometimes. This time I have encountered new problems, the subtitles are flickering and is not even synced or the subtitles are just randomly located on my screen. Can’t I just get a smooth experience watching anime? You have to fix this. Personally I don’t have a problem with the animes available since I only want to watch Naruto Shippuden and Boruto.
