First Refuge: Z 12+

I’ve played a bunch of these games; this one has mastered the 4X genre. Only preference is I wish you could participate fully without having an alliance. Maybe make it more beneficial if you are in one instead of preventing participation in events if you aren’t. Just my thing though. Over, really excellent. Fun without being intrusive.

Be careful of harassment and stalkers. The devs do nothing! And ... do not spend money here! I would like to give this 5 stars because it is a fun game with mostly good mechanics. But I can’t. In the private messages.. the block feature does not work, so I do not feel protected from men that keep sending nasty dm’s. I have written the devs about this several times. Also.. I paid for the feature to use my own pic as an avatar. (Yes… you do have to pay for this) 3 times now, after being posted for several days, my avatar gets banned because a player that reports it as being sensitive or bad. Then I have to wait for 3 days before being able to post another pic. Every pic I posted was just a plain selfie. Nothing sensitive. Nothing bad. But apparently, players can report your avatar just for the purpose of harassment and the game automatically bans your avatar for 3 days. I have complained several times to no result. The devs do write back with generic answers but nothing to fix the problems.

Same as State of Survival, Rise of Kingdoms or Warpath. It is free with no ads!
Positives= first few days are fun. Everyone on equal ground. Everyone scrambled to create or join first power alliance.
- Resources seem crazy at start. You will get way more than you can spend

Negatives -
By lelvel 15 or so you will find you are resource starved. This is where you’ll be tempted to buy packs.
By the time first KE (kill event) rolls around, FTP players will get smashed. This occurs around day 10 on new server. Even if you are a moderate spender ( I dropped 25 dollars) you will still be smashed. Fact is, there Will always be 10-20 players on ANY server that will spend like crazy to be server bullies for 6 months to balance their lack there power out of game. They will always form the server super alliance and smash the competition.
I saw many alliance members quit after first KE after they were easily zeroed (all troops and resources gone) by players who payed to win with insane troop and commander buffs.
Final verdict - if you were a nerd who enjoyed being destroyed on a daily basis in high school…this game is for you.
If you are rich beyond all measure and want to beat the crap out of losers by paying to win…..this game is for you.
If you are Joe Average and don’t want to spend gobs of money or log off nitely feeling sad….this game is NOT for you
