Love & Pies - Merge Mystery 12+

My favorite mobile game, ever!

I’ve been playing Love & Pies for over 6 months now. I play for at least an hour total, every single day! A lot of people complain about the energy and diamonds, but I’ve never had to spend a lot of money to get them. And trust me, I’m a single mom of two kids so money is not something I have a lot of. But this game has never been unreasonable for me. You can either put the game down and wait a bit, or you can spend a small amount to get a pretty decent amount. You can watch an ad for energy every day and you get a decent amount. Plus they regenerate pretty quickly. When I run out of energy I close out the game and come back to it a while later and I have full energy again and almost all my resources are recharged. If you had constant energy and diamonds you would get bored very quickly. Also, it’s a free game, so the creators have to make money somehow. Imagine all the work they put into making this game! They’re not gonna give it away for free. I’m addicted to this game and the only reason I would stop playing is if I completed it. I love the story, the characters, all the different events, everything about this game. I’ve played hundreds upon hundreds of mobile games and this is the longest I’ve ever kept a game on my phone let alone played it every day.

Best in class.

There are a couple of merge game paradigms. One is this type, where you merge items to fulfill orders. My enjoyment of these depends on the wrapping, since the gameplay is identical. And this is the best wrapping of this type of game out there. Most importantly is that there’s a continuing story to keep you interested. And I’m totally hooked on the story. I have never seen a f2p game with so much racial diversity and LGBTQ representation and it is so refreshing! I rarely spend real money on these games but I’m happy to support the development of such inclusive gaming.

Two points people have made. 1: The main character is in yet another romantic storyline. Yes, but there’s so much else going on, and I wonder if that reviewer was even paying attention, as he suggests an alternate storyline of her being worried about her mother…which is in fact the very plot of the game! 2: The game is designed to take your money/There’s not enough playtime before energy runs out. Um, is this your first f2p game? You don’t get a free game for actual free, dear hearts! At least this one doesn’t pummel you with ads for gems.

This is a game to play a few times a day, not as your main source of gaming, with a fun mechanic, adorable art, and inclusive storytelling. It’s a pleasure to spend money on it every so often. (No different from Patreon, really.)

Lovely Art, Great Storyline, Fun and Casual Gameplay

In a sea of cheap, copy and paste cash-grab games this is a true gem to find. I have played other merge games only to be attacked by ads every two seconds and aggresive pushing of microtransactions to continue, but that's not the case with this one! In fact, aside from the microtrasactions they do have, they are reasonably priced and give you a lot for your money.

The actualy game is like your typical merge game, but they do so well at intertwining it with the story, it makes it much more engaging! Note that this is a casual game, you will have to wait to progress but it's a reasonable amount of time and paying isnt necessary to continue (A possible suggestion for developers,I would love to be able to find a way to see how long until the "spawners" replenish)

I think however one of the biggest things I love about this game and what makes it stand out among the others is the story and characters. It really does seem at first to be your typical "inhereted a building and have to refurbish it" game but thought was put into the characters and stories. The characters are very diverse and its wonderful seeing more representation of LGBT folks and people of color. It was clear a lot of though was put into this game and I hope to see more games like this in the future.
