كان أهالي منطقة الفجيرة مرتبطة أعمالهم وشؤون حياتهم وبانتظام مستمر على حساب الدرور على مدار السنه وكل سنه لسهولته ودقة توافقه بحركة ومجريات الطبيعة من حولهم حساب الدرور يتكون من عشرة درور ( 10 ....100 ) وكل در يتكون من عشرة أيام ، ويستمر بالصعود إلى وقت يسمى بالمساريق ويسمونه سرقة الحساب وتأخذ وقت خمسة أيام فقط ويرجع الحساب بالدرور .
ولكن بعد المساريق مباشرة يبدأ من الدر 100 وبالنزول إلى أن يصل إلى الدر 10 ثم يبدأ من الدر 10 ثانية وبالصعود إلى أن يصل إلى وقت المساريق مرة أخرى وهكذا ... ويحسب الأهالي أمور كثيرة ويتابعونها مع حساب الدرور مثال :
- دخول الشتاء ونهايته
- بدء أيام القيض ونهايته
- بدء المربعانية ونهايتها
- دخول النيروز
- بداية شهر رمضان
- أوقات زراعة الحبوب والخضروات وجنيها
- بدء طلع التمر وجني الرطب
- ظهور ومغيب بعض النجوم
- حركة الرياح للزراعة والصيد والسفر بالبحر
