Clipboard Portal is built with end-to-end encryption to keep your data safe during transfer. The app uses Apple’s trusted cryptography libraries, including Curve25519 for public-key encryption and ChaChaPoly for symmetric encryption. This ensures that only the intended recipient can decrypt your content. Your data is encrypted on your device, securely transferred, and stays encrypted on the server until the recipient retrieves it.

2. Where is my data stored?
Your encrypted data is temporarily stored on a secure server in Germany (hosted by Hetzner in Nuremberg) before being sent to the recipient. No personal data is ever stored on the server, and your content is only there until it’s securely downloaded.

3. What happens if I reset my user ID?
Resetting your user ID generates a new key pair using Curve25519 encryption. All future transfers will use this new key, but files you’ve already received remain unaffected since they were decrypted with your previous key.

No, Clipboard Portal only works while the app is open. Once you close the app, the connection to the server is closed, and no further data can be sent or received.
