Deliveroo: Food Delivery App 12+‎

One of the orders I have placed was charged to my account but would show as pending confirmation from the restaurant, I called the restaurant (because it is difficult to find a Deliveroo customer service/help contact number on the app) to which the restaurant replied saying they weren’t busy and had not received the order from Deliveroo yet. I had to Google for a contact number and the Deliveroo agent said that the orders are sent to the restaurant based on the proximity of the delivery rider! In this case it took them more than 20 mins to send the order to the restaurant. It makes customers think that the restaurant is delaying their order whereas the delay is from Deliveroos end.

I have had issues with other orders too where incorrect items have been delivered by the restaurants but Deliveroo have been able to give me a Deliveroo credit instantly on those instances.

A little work on the app, quick access to customer care (phone number) and some clear/true information on orders could help with credibility.

The manager closed the phone on my face twice and then told her staff to do the same with me! The manager thinks it’s okay to close the phone on customers when she is fed from them and their issues! I was lied to by deliveroo and McDonald’s and each one was trying to put the blame on the other and they were putting the customer in between. Rather than talking about it with each other and see how they can make it up to the customer they decided to involve the customer by putting the blame on the other! They think after all of this I will have the patience to be kind and nice?! No one wanting to solve my issue, no one wanting to take accountability and compensate the customer for the mistake they have done, and I’ll be nice and kind?! To disrespect me not once but three times and ill be all kind and nice?! And then to dare and close the phone on my face 3 times and “tell me we will not be able to assist you further!! Deal with it!” Excuse me?! Where are we?! And who is this manager that thinks she has the power to speak to customers in that way and to close the phone on them just because she wants to save herself from the headache of a customer?! What’s the point of having “live chat and call” if you are not bothered to do your job by chatting and talking to your customers?! Worst service on Earth! Disrespectful staff, who choose NOT to help their customers!

I ordered from McDonald’s through Deliveroo and it was delayed for 10 min, but that isn’t a big issue. The issue here is that I didn’t receive half of my order. As we know McDonald’s uses two bags if the order is huge, one for the fries and food and such and one for drinks. Well I only received my drinks bag that had 2 happy meal boxes. I used the “Order help” on Deliveroo since I can’t call the driver through the Deliveroo app since he hasn’t called me when the order arrived. They had me choose whether to get a refund within 10 days or use it in my Deliveroo credits. I chose the second option since I was going to use the credit to order again. I tried to enter the settings and it is unclear where to find those points or how I can order using them. If you live in the UAE go for talabat all the way. Never use Deliveroo since if any issue happens you can’t call anyone and their live chat is always busy (figures since everyone is complaining)
