With its friendly approach and awesome updates, Duolingo’s long been one of our favorite apps for learning another language. Its secret: making the process genuinely fun. Engaging mini-games test your reading, writing, and speaking skills, and joining a club (where you can encourage and compete with others) adds a great social element. Bonus: all those languages and games are available for free!

The progress depends on you

Duolingo is a great app for language learning. I think why a lot of people are misjudging it, because the progress of language learning depends on you. I have been learning French for 3 years and I’m still stuck at A2, because I barely complete 1-5 lessons a day, usually just to save streak. And even then these little ant steps have helped me learn almost a thousand words so far. I’m revisiting old notebooks from university and I can understand everything now. (Obviously another thing if you solely rely on Duolingo as your language learning tool, your progress will be according) (I also use Drops and Busuu) Duolingo tries to be the perfect app with everything coming in bite size lessons, and they’re doing an amazing job.

My sister on the other hand has started learning Spanish over a month ago. She completes a whole unit per each time she studies. So obviously she progresses so much faster than me, and therefore learns better.

So it’s very individual, yet everyone have the same outcome, no matter the speed, everyone learn something from this app.

I recommend!

Duolingo. A free app to download and learn any language you want, for free. I have been learning Japanese for 2 weeks and I have always thought it was such a hard language to learn since it’s my 3rd language. However, Duolingo makes the learning efficient and easier! In my school I had French and I had no idea about it, couldn’t learn anything except for when I downloaded this app, I learned lots of new words and pronunciations which helped me a lot. I recommend purchasing this app if you really need help or you want to learn a language. Step by step, you will learn more and more. Now, there are some stuff that you could get. For example, you have a daily streak everyday to go and learn on Duolingo, now there is a thing called “Super Duolingo” which gives you unlimited hearts and more but of course, it is for money! Although, if you practice your streak for a long term of time, you get a free subscription for Super Duolingo. I recommend taking this app, it will help you super efficiently at learning a language, even if it’s your 3rd or 4th!
