Description

Record the values of 52 facial locations and eye rotation 60 times a second using a live camera feed, a blurred view, or a completely virtual augmented reality mask. Customise your appearance, highlight particular areas of the face, or mirror one side of the face onto both sides of a mask. View a fully interactive 3D replay of the recording. Then analyse the data of each location, including the symmetry if applicable. All this without storing any visual data, protecting privacy.

Clinicians and academics all over the world are using Facial Movement Recorder to analyse the facial movement of individuals living with facial weakness caused by conditions such as: stroke, Parkinson's, progressive supranuclear palsy, Bell's palsy, nerve damage, facial trauma, head injury, facial tumours, burns, dementia.

The Sunnybrook Facial Grading System was created by Ross, Fradet, & Nedzelski at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto in 1992. The system is free to use. Facial Movement Recorder presents the system as it was designed and has not customised it in any way. Facial Movement Recorder is not associated with the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in any way.

What’s New

Version 1.13.0

Thanks for using Facial Movement Recorder!

In this update you can now select from a couple of new mirror modes when using a mask. These modes will completely hide the left or right side of the mask, so you can focus entirely on one side of your face. This was a feature request by someone living with facial palsy.
When using a wireframe mask, you'll no longer be able to choose an eye colour, because you wouldn't be able to see it anyway.
You may have noticed that when selecting a live value to preview on the main screen it would actually show the value of the opposite side. This has now been fixed and the preview bar will show the correct value.
