I tried selfdrive in Dubai and my experience was not as bad as my experience in Saudi Arabia , my only challenge in Dubai was that the security deposit is taking 2 months from the return date to be refunded then it takes 10 to 15 days to appear in my account…. In Saudi Arabia it’s just a nightmare.. I rented a car with comprehensive insurance they booked me another car “higher model” and used the insurance money to cover the difference, after one month I wanted to extend one more month and I found that extending is more expensive than renting a new car “they told me that I got discount first time, while when im trying to book a new car it’s cheaper “ , they confirm the insurance I bought is a comprehensive insurance while the agency provided me with the car advised it’s third party insurance, after returning the car they didn’t communicate the payment with the hiring agency and the agency reported financial request against me with triple of the rental amount and i had to keep following with the agency and with selfdrive customer service for more than 2 weeks to close the case , their customer service rarely answering the telephone, they always advise calling me back after checking but they never do . I sent many WhatsApp they rarely answered, even emails they don’t reply.

Please be aware of the additional charges at the end of the transaction. The full amount is not displayed and there’s integrity issue here while using this app to not disclose the full amount when you pay for the booking amount. I experienced this myself today while making a booking thinking the rental amount is all I will be charged for. Following the first payment deduction I was redirected to a second page where they asked to pay the same amount again to be held as a security deposit. I stopped the transaction and called help desk to request a refund however, they said I will be paying a penalty of 10% due to booking cancellation. I tried to explain that I wasn’t aware of the security deposit and that the total amount should have been displayed at the time we confirmed the booking and made the payment in full and since security deposit wasn’t paid the transaction should not be considered complete but they still refused to refund the amount in full. Complete scam and just finding ways to rip off people. Please be aware that the amount you are requested to pay when completing the booking isn’t the full amount you will be charged as an addition payment will be requested.
Avoid them. It’s your money, protect it.

A bunch of scammers from India have come together and developed an App and started running the business with ZERO Professionalism and ZERO concern to their customers. THEY ARE OPENLY LYING IN THE ADVERTISING THAT THE CREDITS ARE PROCESSED IN 1 DAY, THEY NEVER RETURN YOUR MONEY UNTIL BEFORE THEY HOLD IT FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS. I called them about their recent advertisement and they simply said, it is “PROCESSED” in 1 day and APPEARS in a freshly designed new tab in your App where you can see it is available for next booking (can’t understand why, as if I wanted another booking they would still have made me deposit the security, so lame excuse), but repayment of security deposit will be done after 2 MONTHS.Secondly, YOUR DEBIT AND CREDIT CARD is never safe with them. They keep it in their file and any fraudster in their team can charge your card even when your dealing is closed (I am more concerned now as I realize they won’t even have any internal controls obviously given their attitude and lack of professionalism). They hold your card details and they charge your card without your permission or informing you for their so called Non Rental invoices. I understand that I have to pay what I owe, but there was a reason I paid security deposit in addition to the rental. If there is anything that need be charged separately, inform me to pay or deduct it from the security, don’t dare charge my card without my permission.Their customer service is slow, their discounts are making you fool and they add and many hidden charges that you end up paying more than regular car rental. SO, AVOID TAKING CAR FROM THESE INTERMEDIARY AGENTS, rather go direct to the car rental companies to deal direct with them.

Worst car rental company app at uae , they charge for fines in area i never been during all rental period and when i asked the call center they told me will send you through email the details of fine and until this time of writing this review no one send me and in the collection time i choose the free return of the car to the office at sharjah airport after car collection they put charge-for the collection of the car and when i contacted the call center through watssapp they told me door step car collection chargeable and when i told them i return the car for the office neglected me so i call the cal center after 10 minutes they referred me for the car collection executive she was super rude and shout on me and she told me she will increase the charge for 78 AED instead of 52 and when asked her based on what i told her neither app nor agreement indicate this charge she just told me collection chargeable and will deductible from deposit and eventually she increased the charge for me
