If you ever see a group of teenagers (or twenty- or thirtysomethings) filming themselves doing literally anything, know this: They’re probably making a video to share on TikTok. Its infinite scroll of new videos combines perfectly edited lip-synching, hilarious sketches, and mesmerizing dance moves with delightful special effects and filters. It’s hard not to fall in love with everyone’s fluffy pets, awkward parents, impressive glow-ups, fails of every kind, and songs and pop-culture references that spark a million memes.
Volume problem and “taking a break”
I use this app regularly, and I don’t find anything wrong with it besides these two problems. The first one is about the volume adjusting. When I turn down and up my volume on the for you page, it uses the convenient bar at the bottom. However when I do that same thing on the following page it doesn’t work and uses the default volume box which takes out a huge part of my screen when I’m scrolling through and watching. Now the second problem isn't really a problem I just don’t think it works as it was intended to. So sometimes when I try following another user, there is a notification that reads something like “you are going to fast. Take a break!”. I would understand IF I was following a bunch of people at once, but I don’t follow people left and right and a bit of time passes by before I follow someone else. Therefore there is no reason for me to “take a break” when I didn’t JUST follow another person. The worst thing about this feature is that I need to spam the follow button just so the app stops and lets me follow them. Again I don't hate the app and I enjoy using it but if these issues were removed of fixed that would mean a lot.
