Description

This Tour of The Mammoth Site's bone bed provides you with a self-guided walking tour of the in-progress excavations of a 140,000-year-old sinkhole in the southern Black Hills of South Dakota.

This app takes you through a short series of station stops along a ¼ mile long covered pathway around and through a now-dry sinkhole pond filled with mammoth skeletons. Each station stop provides detailed information about the active mammoth dig and helps you understand the hundreds of mammoth bones that you will see in front of you.
