App doesn’t respect your privacy

Asks for too many permission in fact some of which is not needed.

When I opened app it asked access to Bluetooth. But in fact that’s not needed as all audio comes from system and app doesn’t connect to your headphones directly.

Then when I tried to login with Google it wanted to access to all my file in google drive.. why???!!!

When I tried to login with twitter it wants to get all my account info my followers list etc. again why??!!

When I logged in it asked for 3 more permissions microphone, notification and location. Why do you need this many access?!?? To track my every move?!!??

When I opened some of pages most probably “friends” page it asked for accessing to my contacts

DONT USE THIS APP UNLESS YOU DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR PRIVACY AT ALL!!!!!

Developer Response ,

Hi there. I will explain all the permissions we ask for. Regarding Bluetooth, we do need to ask for permission to Bluetooth, as you can use Bluetooth headphones or a Bluetooth speaker when in a rave. You just click the Bluetooth icon in the top left corner of the video player to make it work. Now I'll explain why we ask for access Google Drive. Google Drive Access:
You have the option of uploading video files into Google Drive, and then watching these video files with friends in a rave you create. Many users upload movies into their Google Drive account, and then watch them with friends through Rave. In order for your friends to see the files you've uploaded into your Drive, we need to access your Google Drive files to share it with others so that everyone can watch. This is what "edit" means - we have to be able to set the files to public, so your friends can see them too. But we never copy or delete anything from your Google Drive account. If you're really uncomfortable, you can create a new Gmail and put the files in that Google Drive. Google Drive videos must be set to public in order to watch them with others. Our app is currently monetized through small ads at the bottom of the screen, not by stealing anyone's credentials or using anyone's information from their Google accounts. We hope this clears things up for you. You don't have to grant us permission to your Google account, you can deny the access and just not use this feature of Rave. We ask for permission to the microphone because you have the option to voice chat with friends in a rave. Of course we ask you for permission to send you notifications - literally EVERY app on the App Store does the same. We ask you for permission to your location so that we can show you raves near you. Our users like this feature because they can watch content with people in their area, and make new friends. Just click "Deny", and then you won't see raves near you. Simple as that. If you actually used the app, you would understand a lot of what I've just said. But instead, you've jumped to the conclusion that we are hacking you and stealing your information, when really, we ask for these permissions to make your experience better while using the app. We really don't appreciate you accusing us of nonsense like this. We work really hard to maintain our app and we ask for these permissions for very valid reasons, as do many other apps in the App Store. If you have any further questions about any of this, you can contact me directly at julia@rave.io. I want to end this response with the fact that you can simply click "Deny", or "Don't Allow" on every single permission we ask for. Why do you have to leave this 1-star review instead of simply clicking the Deny button?
