The diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB) can be shocking and raises a lot of questions. Cure is possible, but it will take at least 6 month time and a lot of discipline. The TB Companion is made to guide and support TB patients at all ages.
You can choose a companion and get into intercative dialogues. You will learn about TB in general, about how to protect your loved ones from getting infected, about your diagnosis, necessary tests, possible side effects and other details, that are relevant for your specific kind of TB. You can enter your medication and set daily pill reminders. See how you are making progress and let your companion cheer for you every day!
The responsibility for all treatment decisions will have to stay in your doctors hands. The TBCompanion app will provide you with additional information to be a well educated partner during treatment. It will provide you with some extra motivation to get through this long journey. And importantly, all your information will stay anonymous.
All medical information within the TBCompanion was put together by TB specialists, that are involved in the writing of German TB treatment guidelines. They are working for a non-profit organization. Try this first version of the TBCompanion as a patient or treatment provider and send us your feedback to improve TB treatment for everyone.
