New client? Open a bank account using the app
Open your first ABN AMRO current account with the app in a few simple steps. You don't need to visit an office. Even with an international passport, you can usually open an account using the app. In exceptional situations, you may be required to visit an office.
Banking with the ABN AMRO app for the first time
If you already have an ABN AMRO current account, you can use the ABN AMRO app straight away. Make sure you have your debit card and e.dentifier to hand. You will need these to set up the app. After that, you will only need your card and e.dentifier to confirm some payments.
Secure banking with the app
In the app, you can log in and confirm many orders with your chosen 5-digit identification code, fingerprint or Face ID. It's important that you handle your device with care. Keep your identification code and PIN number secret. Make sure you only register your own fingerprint or face on your device. Had to change this review from 1 star to 4 stars because of Jeremy's excellent customer service. Immediate response to my concern, I was super amazed! One bit of feedback to developers: if the app is under construction, please have a banner that displays it is under construction so customers don't think there are issues with the app or they think they are doing something wrong.
I waited until the next day after they were done with app maintenance and updates, and all is working just fine. Thank you!
Needs a lot of work. I can't log in using my Touch ID, I can't log in using my 5 digit identifier, I can't see my accounts because it won't let me "add" my accounts since my checking and savings account don't show up in the menu that allows you to choose which accounts to have on your main page. I try to click to other options and the app gives me an error message. Tried to download the app again and I'm still experiencing the same issues. Not convenient at all

Good but unnecessary tweaks at time
Dear app team,
I obviously like the app for years.
Today the last update really annoyed me: why would you need to increase the vertical spacing between accounts?? We now have all that white space in between and it make that the bottom accounts aren’t visible anymore unless scrolling! Can you use the same spacing in the accounts view as in the “self service “ which is much better.
If you want to tweak this, at least make it a setting like “compact mode” in Gmail to keep the compact vs extended view.

Excellent and VERY BAD
De app is fantastisch.
Dit in schril contrast met ABN management die zonder aanzien des persoons en uiterst discriminatief een 50 jaar klant van 75 jaar oud buiten sluit en er alles aan doet om hem het leven zo zuur mogelijk te maken. Zijn app afsluiten. Brieven aan hem maken op 15 aug 2018 en pas versturen in januari 2019 met een verouderde bank pas. Soortgelijke malversieve zaken zijn meerdere keren gebeurd. Discriminatief: Waarom kan een expat gewoon door bankieren bij ABN? En kom aub niet aan met de onzin dat dit maar tijdelijk is. Ik was zelf van 1983 tot 2012 expat. Dat is 29 jaar ! Onvoorstelbaar en Schandelijk en zeker als de ABN maar al te goed weet dat ik om medische redenen niet in staat ben om naar Nederland te komen om een andere bank in te schakelen. En NOTA BENE op eigen kosten.
Nogmaals Onvoorstelbaar en Schandelijk.
