Millions of students have studied with Magoosh's word-class online test prep and exam books. From over 8 years of helping students prepare for exams, we know that time management can be one of the biggest challenges. That is why we created this free Study Timer app, which is the perfect compliment to any study session, be it online or offline.
Study Timer supports all of our exams products: GRE, GMAT, SAT, ACT, LSAT, MCAT, TOEFL, IELTS.
The Study Timer app helps students stay focused during practice exam sections or any general study session. It also helps students complete the exam section in time by tracking the on-pace question count in addition to counting down the time remaining in the section.
To use this app, select the exam(s) that you are preparing to take. Then choose an exam section and select "start". The timer will countdown the time in the section and it will also show which question you should be on so that you stay on-pace to finish the section in time. The timer will also run when the app goes into the background. This way, you can study using other apps, books or websites while continuing to user the timer.
Study timer works without WiFi or cellular data so that you can use it to study no matter where you are.
- Fixed GRE Math timer duration setting (from 2 to 35min)
- Reinstall to update if you're still seeing 2 minutes!
Ratings and Reviews
This app works well, but I think it could be improved if there was an option to track and add study sessions so that the user can get an idea of how much study time they put in towards a test. Especially for exams such as the MCAT, which suggests around 500 hours of study. Thanks!
Good for GRE or normal studying
I really like this app for my GRE studying and studying in general. The only thing that I would change is something to let you know that the timer is up. It could have had a sound but with my phone on silent, I did not hear anything. However, when the timer had finished the app included messages to walk around or similar tips to better study habits.
GRE writing section timer is wrong
The GRE allows 30 min per essay prompt (analytical and argument). This timer is set for 60 min and says “prompt 1”. Please fix this as it is not correct.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
