good mail client

When I first reviewed this app on Mac it crashed frequently. It seems a lot more stable now but still isn't as snappy as I would like. On iOS there are 6 Assistant categories. Mac only has 4. Neither provide an option for the user to train it. The dark mode on Mac is also very dark -- black -- as opposed to MacOS's dark gray. I would like to see dark mode match Mac. Also the backup & sync feature doesn't make much sense to me, because on iOS I had to re-enter every single account on iPhone and every single account on iPad. A sync feature should include the email accounts with an option to enable/disable them on that device. Also it would be nice to see some UI tweaks. The drop shadow when highlighting a message looks dated in modern UI (and also might be impacting app performance). I love that it can display Gmail's labels, but I would like the abillity to colorize these like in Gmail. Lastly I would like the ability to enable/disable focused inbox PER account. And it would be nice to create custom inboxes like OnMail allows.

Battery Killer

When I downloaded this app for my iphone and ipad, I LOVED IT. Then I wanted the integration with my MacBook Pro. I downloaded it and realized that my battery would drain crazy fast. When I started looking for reasons, I was led to see what apps are constantly pulling internet info in the background. This app only allows for your emails to be pulled in the background every 1, 3, or 5 minutes. You can not turn it off on Mac like you can by disabling background app refresh on iOS. So you are either forced to allow it to check every email account every 1,3, or 5 minutes and drain your battery crazy fast (even when your compter is sleeping), or you have to delete it. I had it for one day while I was student teaching. I left at 7am and it was 100% charged, I closed my laptop and took it with me to school. I only used my laptop for about 15 minutes all day. When I got home at 5 pm, only using it for 15 minutes (the rest of the day the laptop was closed and in my backpack) it was at less that 40% battery. I have a 2020 MacBook Pro 16", so that should not be the case. I checked all possible things, removed this program and now I am back to normal battery life. Hopefully they change this option because I honestly love the app but it is 100% unusable on MacBook because it will kill your battery.

Hi answer24, happy to clear up the confusion – our app is constantly interacting in the background to keep your inbox updated. As not all account types have this type of functionality out of the box, Edison Mail supplies this. That said, a large amount of battery consumption isn't something we hear about from our users often (if at all), so we'd be happy to investigate. Please send us specific details (including screenshots of how much battery/processing power our app is taking on your device.)

We look forward to hearing from you with specific details so we can investigate, and we can be reached here: mailsupport@edison.tech (make sure to include “App Store review” in the subject line of your message.) 🙂

Missing a Few Small Things But I Use & Recommend It

If you could more easily add emails to the folders of other accounts you've added to Edison--it would save a lot of time for a buisness like mine, where, having evolved over time, we have multiple accounts: some are old, and some are new, and for some reason we still need to use/have them in some capacity. This feature would help.

Also, if you could somehow make/create/assign tasks in a way that was simple, streamlined and available both in the message and on the menu and on the list of emails itself--it would supercharge the productivity people could get with this app.

There are a few other minor and small things that just seem either to be mising or a little too cumbersome--but overall, after trying a myriad of different email clients, this is the one I use (and come back to whenever I stray to some new shiny object); and this is the one I recommend beacuse its positives far outweigh its small, minor inconveniences.
