Description

Overamped automatically redirects AMP website to their original version, effectively disabling AMP in Safari.

HOW IT WORKS
When opening a link from any source – including Google Search, Google News, Yahoo! JAPAN, any website, and native apps – Overamped will find and redirect to the canonical version automatically. This means it will work with all AMP and Yandex Turbo pages no matter how the page is opened.

OPEN NATIVE APPS
If you have the native app installed for a website that is redirected Overamped will automatically open the native app rather than the website.

SAFARI HISTORY
Websites redirected by Overamped won't appear in your history and going back or forward will never load the AMP or Yandex Turbo page.

DISABLE OVERAMPED FOR SPECIFIC WEBSITES
If you prefer the AMP or Yandex Turbo version of a website you can disable Overamped for any websites you choose.

STATISTICS
Overamped can display statistics, including how many AMP results have been found and how many redirections Overamped has performed. All statistics are collected and remain exclusively on-device.

PRIVACY
Overamped does not transmit any data off the device. This means that none of your data is shared, sold, or otherwise given to any third parties.

What’s New

Version 1.3.1

Fixed Yahoo! JAPAN support. Links in search results will again be overridden and link to their original version. The Yahoo! JAPAN AMP viewer will also redirect to the original version of the webpage.

If you've found Overamped helpful a rating in the App Store is greatly appreciated. A written review is even better!

ALEXANDER K TICKLE ,

doesn’t always open native app

love the app! however, i have noticed that it doesn’t always work. i interpreted the app description to mean that it would always open webpages in the respective app (i.e., CNN links don’t always open up in the CNN app). it does work on some other sites, however, hence why i’m giving it four stars.

if this were fixed to where it would work for all possible sites, i would gladly give this app five stars!

Developer Response ,

Hi Alexander!

There are a few reasons Overamped might not be able to open the native app, including the native app not supporting universal links or iOS choosing to not open the app e.g. because you've ask it not to in the past.

If you'd like any more information or support please contact me via the in-app support!

Works like a charm

When you click on an amp link, like something from google news, you get the normal version instead of the horrible amp version. If you press back and forward it won’t break.

Just remember to set ‘other websites’ to allow in settings

Responsive Author

Google changed something that has broken this extension’s normal behavior, but I’m leaving five stars because 1) it’s not the author’s fault and 2) he was extremely responsive when I brought the issue to his attention. I’m sure he’ll find a workaround. Great extension.
