Still Worth It!
I have been using PAST for years to do stats analysis (not just for paleontology). It still works great. I personally find it very inutitive for student-use, especially among undergrads who are taking their first data analysis/stats course in science. I really like the improved graphics. Only regret is that they phased out the cladistic tree builder.

Most userfriendly grapher ever.
I use it for audio analysis, and for visualisation/statistics of different electronic components characteristics.
It would be a nightmare to do that with gnuplot or python scripting.
