I would like to improve my rating.
I use the Curb taxi app in New York City and I also use Lyft and Uber without issue.
I have been happy with appTaxi in Italy as it is a good way to you call a cab without having to find a taxi stand.
The app requested that I add my payment information so that it could charge my card directly rather than my halving to pay cash to the driver. I did that and called a taxi and he picked me up and my credit card was charged 18 euro and the driver insisted that I pay him cash also. I am hoping to receive a credit from apptaxi.

Unreliable taxi service
I’m not usually one to complain publicly but after my experience with this app I thought it was worth it to share my experience. I needed to catch a 6:30am flight out of Florence airport and scheduled a car the night before to pick me up for 4am. It went through and then 10 minutes later it canceled. I scheduled another one and same thing happened, it went through and confirmed then canceled about 10 minutes later. Finally I was able to schedule one for 3:45am and the reservation was kept until 3:44 am when the driver canceled the reservation. I could not get ahold of the service by telephone or another taxi and ended up having to walk with all my luggage 25 minutes to the train station in the middle of the night. I was very stressed and anxious and was ultimately put in a very unsafe situation. I had seen mixed reviews about the app and was already a little nervous going into it but in case anyone wants to give the app a go I say have a back up plan just in case because I’ve heard people having similar experiences as me and others having success.

Worked well hailing a cab
Was hesitant due to other bad reviews, but noticed they were a bit old and there were a couple new ones with good reviews. Gave it a shot and had no problems! Had to order a cab to a residence at 5am for an early flight - got a notification that a cab would arrive in 4min. And it did! Did not have to call or anything.
Did not use the payment option, just paid the driver directly. App is great, folks.
