GyPSy Guide GPS driving tour of Arches is an excellent way to enjoy a sightseeing trip to explore the national park. There are 70+ audio points that play automatically, featuring what to see, stories, tips and advice. All the benefits of a guided tour, the freedom to drive yourself.

Visit for route maps, sample audio, tips and advice and what to know before you go.

If you like driving yourself when you go sightseeing, GyPSy Guide™ tour apps allow you to enjoy a guided tour experience while remaining totally independent. By driving yourself, you'll be able to get from place to place faster, see more things and not be tied to anyone else's schedule.

The tour apps use your device’s location abilities to play the commentary AUTOMATICALLY. All you have to do is drive, listen and decide which places you want to stop at. Our tour guides have created an insightful and entertaining tour of Arches National Park. We’ll recommend the best places to experience and some great locations that most visitors will drive by.

GyPSy Guide knows where you are and which direction you are heading, and plays commentary automatically about the things you are seeing, plus stories and tips and advice.

It’s just like having a local friend to show you around. And that friend just happens to be a professional tour guide.

The same information you would get on a bus tour or from a guide book, for just a fraction of the price. And you control the itinerary and schedule.

No data, cellular or even wireless network connection needed while touring. Anyone can use them with no need for roaming data – even visiting from another country.

The tour includes the most popular sightseeing stops and many more:

1) Park Avenue
2) Balanced Rock
3) Windows
4) Delicate Arch
5) Skyline Arch
6) Devils Garden
7) Landscape Arch

You can join the tour from Moab or anywhere along the route from campgrounds and RV parks. Since you drive in and out of the Park on the same road, there is different commentary on the way out.

Because the app is filled with audio commentary and maps, its larger than "normal" apps. If you have a limited data plan, its recommended to download over a WiFi network.

++ Continued use of GPS running in the background increases battery usage - we strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charger. This is much better than simply plugging into the USB port in a vehicle.

** iPad users - please note that WiFi-only iPads will not activate the commentary automatically. Any iPhone or network-capable iPad (WiFi + Cellular - whether you have a network connection or not) will work just fine.

GyPSy Guide™ produce award winning audio tours along scenic drives around the world. Enjoyed by travelers who prefer to set their own pace and itinerary on vacation, but enjoy a fun, informative and educational guided experience. Our goal is to provide a great introduction to the region and perhaps inspire you to learn more and return. None of our apps include paid advertising or placements for benefit.

A must for Arches!

We used this in February and loved it! Our original plan was to do the shorter 2 hour tour, but we ended up spending over 5 hours in the park and doing just about every hike. The audio has so much great information and history about that we never would have known by just driving and reading the signs. Tip: Save the visitor center for the end. It’s a nice way to end the tour, but you will have already learned so much about the park, if you run out of time and need to skip it, you will not have missed that much.

Best. Tour. Guide. Ever!

This app is a must have for Arches (and I assume the other editions) and is the best $4.99 I’ve ever spent. It works like magic... flawlessly triggering the guide at GPS points. It’s like having a park ranger in the car with you—pointing out features and giving you directions. The information was informative and entertaining without going “on and on” about every detail. Good for all ages as it is engaging for children as well as adults. Such a clever idea and I hope they continue expand the library as we’d love to have at every national park.

No Audio

App looks promising but couldn’t get Audio to work. Missed the whole value while driving through the park. Make sure yours is working prior to getting in park and out of cellular.

Received feedback on my review to start the tour in Moab before you get to the park so you can resolve any audio problems prior to entering. Unfortunately, we missed all the guidance since it is GPS activated and we are back home. You can listen to it at home if interested by Browsing the tour. Nice!

Yes, good advice. The tour starts in Moab. If you don't hear the sound check or if you drive 10 minutes out of Moab towards the park and don't hear the commentary play, then stop, and call our toll free support line for help. We'll be happy to go check your set up to make sure the audio settings are correct. Don't want you to miss out on hearing the tour.
(Edited to add) You can also listen to the audio after you get home - just tap the "browse this tour" button on the home page. You can move and zoom the map and then manually play the commentary points without being there.
