This applicaton has helped a lot with recreating packaging text that has been outlined. It has some trouble with accents (understandable), but the main problem I have seen is that is very often will interpret a lowercase L as an uppercase i. This seems to happen most often with French text, with words like le, la, les. But it also did it in the middle of words.
One more thing - it very often interpreted a hyphen as an M-Dash.
Still worth having — it has saved me a lot of re-typing.

The entire point of this app is to capture text accurately and allow you to paste it somewhere so as to avoid re-typing it. The app captures the text flawlessly, the problem is that it doesn’t translate it to editable text accurately. Not even close. Every single thing I captured with the app required more “fixing” than it was worth. The longer the text, the more fixing it requires. I’m a fast typist, so I really could have typed 3 paragraphs of text faster than I can edit all the errors Aristocrat made in the OCR process.

I give it one start because it launches and captures text, and one star because the dev is trying to provide a solution to a very real problem. Unfortunately it falls flat on its face.

seems to handle bar codes and small QR codes, but doesnt really even come close with a large QR code containing, say, a publis PGP key.
