Meh. It’s okay.

I’m using this with a SP608E, in an car audio application, with WS2811 addressable RGB LEDs. The controller and LEDs are all receiving 12 volts, and the LED runs are very short. Right now I’m just illuminating the inside of my subwoofer enclosure, but I’d like to add a few more runs to highlight my amp rack. I like the various functions, but it won’t do static colors. I’ve watched “tutorials”, which aren’t very helpful, and have followed what few instructions I could find, and nothing works. Everything flashes or pulses with numerous colors, regardless of the setting. The speed control isn’t very helpful either. The lights are either fast, or REALLY fast. The videos for the SP608E are very misleading. I’m not sure if I have a faulty controller, or if the issue is with the app. The concept of eight controllable channels is fantastic, but it definitely needs to be fine tuned.

Works, but setup is a pain

I want to control with Alexa. So get an account at Sign Up in the BanlanX app. Then setup with BanlanX app so you are connected to your WiFi. Next, check in app to see if you have latest firmware update, and update if necessary. This next step is the key—turn on your device. Mine is an LED strip controller and it would not connect with Alexa until lights were turned on, I tried about 10 times without them on. Now go to Alexa, get BanlanX skill, sign into the BanlanX account and enable skill.

Using the app to control LED string lights around house. Was able to watch a video on how to use the DIY function of the app. But if there are 170 something different presets why can I use only 10 different patterns when creating my own. The timer is a complete waste and doesn’t follow time. Will turn off about an hour after being on turn on at 2am and run most of the next day, instead of running 5pm to 12am. Claims to have over 16 million variations of colors but in presets there are maybe 20 different colors… come up with a better app for these lights PLEASE

These light are amazing. I really love all the color changes. The app works really well but the remote is a little off it doesn’t work properly plus it’s not as good as the other remotes the other led light have. Like the ones with ALL the colors not just red, green, blue, and white. Because what if a little kid got them and they didn’t have any other device than they can’t change it to the color they like... Just a thought :)
