This app retains the speed and simplicity of the phone version, and is also a good fit for this platform. The app looks very nice with the new glassy semi-transparent material look, and the movie poster thumbnails are high enough quality that they look fine when presented as quite large. The “touch” targets and buttons are big enough that it’s relatively easy to activate them without making mistakes. The main search bar now adorns the bottom of the window. There’s a search history panel that makes it easier to access past searches through large buttons instead of trying to type. I couldn’t correctly clear out the search history in that panel, but I expect that it may be a feature that’s coming soon.The features here don’t require augmented or virtual reality, but it’s great to have the app here because many people are using their devices to watch movies and television. Generally, if you’re happy with this app on other platforms, you’ll probably also be happy with it here because the quality is similarly very high and it follows native platform conventions.

I’ll be honest. I downloaded the app because I genuinely wanted to support Casey (he’s a good guy), and figured I’d subscribe even though Callsheet is ‘just’ a front end to a website. Oh, was I wrong! The app is fast, responsive and, more importantly, a delight to use. Every screen has the information I care about, but no more. I went to the source website to see if I’d been missing out on the best movie site ever. Nope. There’s so much clutter there that Callsheet has swept away leaving me in a figurative zen garden of movie information. I think I’ve spent the last hour or so just browsing, and searching, and browsing some more. Learning about a bunch of actors I just couldn’t be bother to go spelunking on Wikipedia (or worse… the other ‘mdb’) because they are right there, with their age, and their photo. Seriously Casey, if you’re reading this, I’ll double down on my offer: come back to Austin and I’ll buy you as many beverages as you want. Thank you for this amazing app, and thank you for caring about good UX.

Getting more than my money’s worth just over the holidays alone — saving the frustration not just of seeing ads but *waiting* for IMDb’s site to load all its junk making each step a 5-10 second procedure.But Callsheet’s focus on a great user experience is more than that. I thought to myself “I wish I didn’t have to navigate from an episode back to a season just to get to the next episode.” And instantly spotted the arrows to do so. Then I went to check and it turns out IMDb has arrows to navigate between episodes as well — but I’ve never noticed them, nor have I wanted to stay to browse in the first place. That’s the difference. Callsheet knows that features only matter if they’re clear, easy to find, and inviting. Thanks for making my lazy TV binge holidays even more fun. :)

A lot of work has been done on Callsheet over the summer and early fall to make it better than ever. I appreciate your patience as I worked to bring things to a place where I'm proud of them. If you encounter any issues, please use the in-app feedback feature (located in Settings) to let me know. Callsheet now requires iOS 18. For users still on iOS 18, Callsheet continues to work with iOS 18; however, most of the visual changes below are only applicable to users running iOS 26 or later. The icons have *not* been updated yet; those will receive updates at a later time. VISUAL REFRESH - Refreshed to fit in with iOS 26 and Liquid Glass design - All-new search affordance at the bottom that lets you quickly swap between searching films/shows/people, OR searching the particular film/show/person you're already viewing. - Moved Recent Searches onto the Discover screen, below Pinned Items - Moved Search History to the top toolbar - When viewing a show/film, you can now see a union of cast & crew credits by using the drop-down on the left and choosing "Everything" - When no results are available for something, the messaging is much clearer - Change the pin icon (due in no small part to some SwiftUI limitations in Liquid Glass) OTHER FIXES - For users on iOS 26+, you can now swipe back from Search Results to get back to Discover - Fix collection navigation (the up/down buttons on the top toolbar when viewing a movie) for non-English users - Fix Known For occasionally showing duplicates - Fix Settings layout for pickers in non-English languages - Fixed a race condition that could prevent Now Playing from working properly - Improvements to Callsheet clearing Now Playing items that… aren't playing anymore - Improve search results for searches that accidentally contain curly quotes - Fixed issue with release dates not showing in rare cases - Will no longer navigate to a TV episode you're already viewing when opening Callsheet by URL - Fix off-by-one episode errors in some rare cases - Bad data about a movie collection won't cause the app to get confused - Scrolling longer views downward will now dismiss the keyboard OTHER IMPROVEMENTS - Search results are shown in the device's native language, or the app's language if the device language has been overridden - Switching between lists is more consistent, particularly on the Discover screen
