Missing enemy

Love the game but I just played the Midway scenario and the Japanese fleet didn’t show up.

Carrier Battles is NOT an upgrade from previous

I truly loved the first version of Carrier Battles and really want to support the artist who made it. That written, to pay to upgrade to this version I feel deserves a fair review. This version is fairly terrible. The controls are lacking the same command ability the first version had. For instance despite being the fog of war, the opposing fleets auto pilot flags are visible to you so you know where they were going. Rain or cloud cover don’t seem to matter (except landing delays) and there is no arrow to tell you which direction the wind is blowing even if they did. Unlike the first version when you clicked on a fleet you could immediately get to the aircraft carriers flight deck clicking on the fleet in the new version randomly opens up the flight deck of any carrier it chooses. Since the font is impossible to read on any fleet, especially when they are in the cloud cover, this is extremely annoying unless you’ve memorized which carriers are we’re on the map. The new graphics are actually worse than the old graphics which is weird because the description would make you believe that the entire point of the upgrade, other than to charge five dollars to keep playing the game already paid for, is for enhanced graphics. The reason I chose to write a review, because I was especially upset that planes randomly disappear from the fleet. CAP fighters randomly disappear after launch (one 20 min turn and all gone) which makes the game unplayable. In fact the two largest carriers in my fleet had zero plans at the start of the battle.

Too bad you were not satisfied with the new look and feel

- Yellow flag only mentions the destination of your fleet, not your opponent's one
- Rules are exactly the same, the weather has the same effects
- Clouds are a little bit more visible on map and may be fog a little bit your tank forces. This was an immersive effects reminding you to seek cover of cloud to avoid detection. It is really an inconvenience ? You may also filter out clouds ay any time
- Touching a carrier brings you exactly on her flight deck in the air op screen
- When you select a TF, you still have the detail pop-up which shows you all carriers and ship present in this task force
- The wind direction is indeed lacking. The effect in the game is relatively small for the moment. We were waiting for the enhancement into the wind to add them back. Wind would then have an effect on carrier air operation and movement
- When it comes to the bugs you have notices, please drop an email to or tap the screen with 5 fingers during your game so that we get all the data to reproduce the issue

Overall, keep in mind that this game is evolutive and anything you feel as a flaw may be improved over time

Also with this v2 you also get more base scenarios, musics and sounds and both side to play
