I am only 4 months into the practice, so reader beware. It's so much easier to chant with others and this helps provide that atmosphere. I do have some things that could be better. The chant speed could calculate your daimoku for you. There could be not such a huge difference in speeds, or more variations in speed. Slow is Really slow and fast is warp speed. Last, there is a little jarring feeling where the loop begins. Please don't take these for anything other than suggestions. I love that there is such a thing available as Chant Buddy.

Wonderful app with a few glitches to work out. When im timing my chanting, i have to set my phone screen so it wont lock. It stops logging the time when that happens. Either that or keep touching the screen before phone locks. Id think the app would stay open while the timer is in use or the time would at least keep running. A little confusing to pay 1.99 for an upgrade & then asked to pay 2.99 again. Why not just make it 4.99 or 5 and call it a day? Otherwise I enjoy this app alot. NMRKI wrote the above review 2 yr ago hoping theyd fix this glitch & they have not. I dont really use this app anymore bc the timeout/screen going black really affects my chanting (negatively), so i will continue with other chanting avenues. Really unfortunate as i otherwise like the app.

Thank you for making this app! I started using Chant Buddy when I received my Gohonzon and joined the SGI last year. It has helped me to learn Gongyo and to chant faster and now I can chant as fast as the other members in my district. I use the timer, the log and the goal functions at least twice a day. Access to Nichiren's writings, the Lotus Sutra and the SGI website is fabulous. It is very easy to send encouragement and Words of Wisdom to others using this app. Also I rise every morning to our encouragement from President Ikeda which is displayed when opening the app! I can't imagine waking up without my Chant Buddy! It helps me to wake up with the Buddha (not the beast). Thank you!! Nam Myoho Renge Kyo 🌸
