CleanBrowsing is a DNS-based content filtering service that offers a safe way to browse the web without surprises. It intercepts domain requests and filter sites that should be blocked, based on your requirements. Our free family filter, for example, blocks adult content, while still allowing Google, Youtube, Bing, DuckDuckGo and the rest of the web to load safely. Our free filters are comprised of three predefined filters for global use(Security, Adult, and Family). The Family filter blocks adult / obscene content and applies Safe Search filters to Google, Bing, Yandex, etc. The security filter, however, only focuses on restricting access to malicious activity. Our custom filters give you full control on what should be blocked. You can pick from 14 predefined filters (Adult, Gaming, Gambling, Weapons, Social Network, etc), but also make your own rules and block/allow any domains you wish. Custom block pages can also be created on the Pro plans and all the plans allow for network visibility (see which sites are being visited from your network). Privacy Statement Data that does not exist can not be stolen, compromised or shared. When it comes to privacy, CleanBrowsing subscribes to this simple philosophy: Data that does not exist can not be stolen, compromised or shared.

Great but needs work

Pretty excited about this app but it needs some work on the MacOS version. When I click the fox to disconect it asks for my password and then disconnects. Right after it disconnects it reconnects automatically. The only way i can actually make it disconnect is by uninstalling it. Not sure if you can change your review but I would gladly change to a 5 star if that was fixed.

What they don't really make clear is that if you want any of the custom features, you have to pay for them. The "free" version only has adult filters. But in my testing, the free adult filters don't even work. The computer just sits there saying "connecting" forever and in the meantime, nothing works. Ended up having to uninstall. Which is a minor pain to figure out because there is no uninstall tool or option to uninstall inside the app. So, you have to remove the app and also remove all the changes it makes to your system preferences.
Did not work. Pain to remove.
