Simply Awesome

I've used the predecessor Cookie5 for some time, and moved over to the latest Cookie6. Automatic migration of my settings and favorites was perfect the first time carefully following the prompts to grant macOS privacy permissions. I couldn't have asked for a smoother transition.

Cookie has replaced the myriad of different cookie cleaners I used in each browser and provides me a single interface to maintain the privacy I desire on the web. For newbie's to the app, use the default setup and as you gain confidence, it's easy to switch to the more advanced interface -- e.g. After the first few hours with the app, I now keep only data for a few websites I trust, and then specifically userid/password cookies from other forums I frequent that are generally plagued with trackers and the like -- Cookie automatically deletes everything else each and every time I exit the browser without my having any further concern -- a perfect scenario for my needs.

I've only reached-out for support a couple times over the years, and each time, the reply is fast and efficient to get me beyond the issue or quesiton I had.

I don't sing high praises for apps very often, but Cookie deserves it, along with 5-starts and superstar status.

Works only half the time

I've been using this app for a week, after upgrading from Cookie 5 by the same outfit. This app seems to be just the same as the last one in that it seems well thought out and actually does work well, WHEN IT WORKS. Unfortunately it doesn't work half the time. Just now when I try and remove all of the website data that Safari's Privacy preferences tell me is there, the app tells me 0 cookies and 0 databases will be removed. I'm deleteing these manually because the app cannot deliver. Same old same old. I've gotten to the point where I'm looking for a replacement app. Disappointing track record, SweetP Productions.

Have you enabled Automatic Removal for Cookie. The big start button in the main window will be deactivated if Cookie removals are running. Also, the data shown in Safari's Preferences doesn't accurately reflect the data which is stored on disk. You need to restart Safari to flush removed data from memory.And Cookie doesn't display cache cookies (but can be removed via cache removal in Cookie), or session cookies (which are removed by Safari on quit).

A real necessity

I've been using Cookie for years. It protects all the different browsers I use, taking the guesswork out the process that would otherwise be required to keep on top of various add-ons to the various browsers. I have it set to auto-delete every time I close a browser, but the interface makes it very easy for me to see all the cookies stored in my different browsers and to decide which ones to allow and which ones to delete.
