randomly deletes dives and file become corrupted

I don’t know what I’m more disappointed in: my Oceanic OCi (which has broken four times in two years) or the software with which it partners=DiverLogLite. Whenever I log a dive and save the file, I close the software, open it a few days later, and find random things deleted. This could be my personal information, the name of the dive sites, the dive data, etc. I contacted the company, and they said my file was corrupted. It just happens at random, and if you try to fix the corrupted file, it deletes everything (even if you backed it up). I was able to go into Time Machine and recover deleted dives, but I had to re-enter all my notes (since, for some reason, they were deleted by the software every time I opened the file). I feel like importing data from a watch should be simple at this point; why then can this software not be used to log dives? Maybe it has to do with the fact that there are two different “containers” in the archiving system, and they don’t play well with each other? Anyway, I would not recommend Oceanic computers (especially not the Oci) nor this software. I have a Suunto D4 previously. Never broke once in 10 years of diving!

Not even marginaly functional

I use this ap for the Aqualung i300 and i550. It often takes multiple attempts to download dives. If a location or dive type is entered that program locks onto that dive and the program has to be shut down and reopened to access any other dive. It contantly resets lifetime dives to 1. I use it primarily for the graph of the dive and it’s air use calculations. I don’t even try to enter anything more than dive site and tank size.

Just though I would update this. It has gotten worse, if anything. I have spent an hour trying to download one dive and it either never completes the handshake or it stalls at about 25% on downloading the dive index. I’m stuborn and really want the information that can be obtained only by downloading the dives or I would terminate this ap with extreme prejudice.

When I tried to get help with it I was asked to allow someone from “support” access to my computer. Right! And they want me to pay to upgrade. The piece of junk that Uwatec offered for the MAC was still head and sholders about this. It really does not rate even one star.

If you are looking for a dive computer and downloading your dives is important to you find a computer that does not rely on this garbage.

You'd think there'd be an improvement after years of 1 star reviews

It's dissappointing that Aqua Lung and other manufacturers use this as their "official" app. They should provide access to the paid app for free, considering how much some of these DCs cost.

The USB driver is rejected by Big Sur, even though the USB driver installer indicates "successful". However if you have bluetooth, at least you will be able to connect via bluetooth. The interface is confusing. I get a window with a bunch of unlabeled fields with no explanation except to put in passwords?? The app is a pig's breakfast. Gonna stick with MacDive.

I wonder if the manufacturers of these generally excellent DCs care about the junk they're foisting on their customers. By contrast, my wife's Shearwater comes with excellent software that is easy to use and not mandatory in any way.
