This is not a lite version of the app, it is just a 7 day trial. The most basic function of locking your dock does not even work in the lite version after the 7 days expires.EDIT: Response to the developer. I am not penalizing it for no reason or to be a Jerk. You call it a lite version which implies REDUCED functionality or basic functionality. The core point of this product is to LOCK THE DOCK. Removing that just makes it a useless product. Why don't you consider removing advanced features like auto start with the OS or starting on a prefered screen etc. Otherwise just call this what it is "DockLock Trial Version". I didn't nug the pro version, I rated this version for what it was, a trial and not a lite version.
DockLock Lite implies reduced functionality compared to DockLock Plus, which is also available in the Mac App Store.Originally, DockLock Lite allowed permanent free usage with Dock locking enabled, while features like auto-relocating, icon hiding, and auto-start required a purchase. Unfortunately, that model caused even more confusion - some users thought the app was broken when certain behaviors didn't work, and others expected full functionality without paying. That led to multiple 1-star reviews. To avoid that, I moved to a 7-day trial with all features unlocked from the start, along with a clear message that the app would stop working afterward. That message appears not just in the purchase dialog, but every time the app is launched - making the trial limitation completely transparent.Since your review came after all that, and since you clearly saw that the app would stop working after 7 days, I can only conclude that the 1-star rating was simply because the app wasn't free - not due to any issue with how it works. While I respect your view about the "Lite" name, I don't believe a 1-star rating based solely on terminology fairly reflects the app's actual value or functionality. If I ever release a permanently free version, it will be clearly labeled DockLock Free to avoid any ambiguity. If you have constructive suggestions for improving the app or its messaging, feel free to contact me at support@docklock.pro - I'm always open to thoughtful feedback.
