Donut™ lets you record loops in two dimensions.
A detailed explanation of how the app works is available here: http://thestrangeagency.com/circles-within-circles/
You can use it like a phrase looper, by recording horizontally while using the step controls to step through vertical recording position. You can use it as a realtime processor by using ThruRecord mode. You can record and playback at completely differently speeds. You can even record backwards! You can record and playback diagonally across the Donut™ surface, creating glitchy staccato sounds. You can record and playback with multiple heads, recording or playing multiple positions at once. You can spread the heads vertically to access different portions of the Donut™, or you can spread them horizontally to create an echo effect.
Imagine two dimensional time!
Updates Dropbox support. Adds backward support for iOS 5.1.

Use it this way, not that way
Donut introduced an interesting concept into the world: a looper that's two dimensional. Good job for thinking outside the box. It's definitely not my favorite app, but I really want to like it because it's so original.
You'll make noise. It will be incomprehensible. If you're hunting stuttered off-beat no-rhythm loops, i suppose donut delivers.
Donut won't be helpful as a tool for chopping up beats. This is because there are not good transport controls for moving your record and playback cursors around on the donut. I also really ached for a tempo tapper, but I used a separate metronome and did the same thing. The result was that I very often recorded over my sounds that I'd just spent a lot of time trying to capture. Playback afterwards also isn't that satisfying because the jump from one granule to another is clicky and abrupt. I ached for attack/decay. Especially since the primary function of Donut is to jump around playing back different grains, I was surprised to hear such poor quality playback.
There's room for potential. I assume this because Curtis does such a great job of reproducing sounds. So I support these devs at the end of the day because I like what they're trying to do. Looking forward to any updates.
Nice but needs to learn to play well with others
Cool idea but would like interapp audio and audiobus so I can use it with other apps.
No ios11 support - can’t run it
