Good App, Cloud Sync Going Away?

We’ve used Dosecast successfully for many years. However it will no longer let us renew the Cloud Sync feature. It states “Apple In App Server Unavailable”. Too bad, they finally got it working reliably and now we can’t renew it. Otherwise It has the best scheduling options, including both “time scheduled” and “interval” based, (i.e. every 5 hours). It allows you to turn or off things like early dose warnings. It allows you to attach photo of your med. it works great with my Apple Watch. I wish Dosecast would let you hide the reminder pop up window rather than forcing you to “take”, “skip”, or “postpone”. Then we could see which other meds are upcoming. I’ve looked at many other similar apps and none can match Dosecast. I would rate it 5 stars if the Cloud Sync feature were still available.

Dosecast: “Life” kept my attention so rivited to do things that I “must do”that I sometimes forgot my own needs for taking the medication that I had been instructed was necessary...not just to take them, but at specific times so that my blood level would remain constant. I found that virtually impossible to do. There were too many other things, such as being care-giver for my husband. Try as I might I could not remember to take my pills properly, and I got away with it for a period of time… until I suddenly popped a clot one of my kidneys destroying half of that kidney. I ended up in the ER and then was admitted to the hospital. I learned a very expensive lesson that day. And then my sons suggested Dosecast which would remind me, via my cell phone,to take my pills throughout the day. I found it to be a miracle worker. No more worries about whether or not I took a pill and forgot it or to take the pill in the first place. This one is a no-brainer. It is either live with Dosecast or gamble with the alternative without it. I am so fortunate that that clot went to my kidney, and NOT to my brain, causing a stroke...or worse.

I’m not usually one to take the time to leave a review, but I’ve had this app for years and I’ve decided to leave a review because it has become so important to my life and general wellbeing. I have several health problems that I need to take medication for at regular intervals, and I have the attention span of a goldfish. With my medications, missing a dose by even 30 minutes can mean the end of my productivity for the day. This app does everything I need it to do without ads or having unnecessary options that overwhelm and detract from the main purpose. I set it to remind me to take a medication at set time intervals, a secondary reminder in case I miss the first, and limit on daily doses. That’s all I need and this app does it perfectly. Thank you to the developer for creating and maintaining this app and for keeping it free without all the ads that so many other apps have.

I just started using the app and so far it seems great. For me personally it’s missing one feature. In fairness it’s a feature I haven’t been able to fine in any other pill app either. I wish there was a sleep hours option that was more flexible. I have disordered sleep patterns that change constantly and most of my meds I’m supposed to take whenever I wake up.The current sleep feature allows you to set regular sleep hours via the settings tab that a fixed on a daily schedule. This doesn’t really work for me because my sleep schedule is completely unpredictable from one week to the next, and remembering to manually adjust it every night is about as likely to happen as taking my pills without a reminder 😅.What I would love to see instead is a button when you open the app that ask you if you’re going to bed. Then it could prompt you to enter a do-not-disturb time frame or something similar. Perhaps in addition to the fixed sleep schedule option. I dunno, something like that 🤷‍♀️. Basically the short version is I wish it accounted for irregular sleep schedules a little better.Other than that hyper specific feature, so far so good.
