this app is great. but the shipping prices are horrible
OK so I have ordered a couple things from Dote recently I just got one of them today and quite honestly I love the idea about this app and they have some really cute and pretty affordable things on there but the one thing that is horrible about this app and I think that is absolutely outrageous that they have is that you can have an item that is what like three dollars and then once you go to check out and you’ve already almost checked out then it’ll tell you that you have to pay like eight more dollars for one item of shipping which makes your entire purchase a lot more expensive. and that is what defeats the purpose of one of the items being cheap because you’re basically paying more than what the item cost most the time for the shipping if it was like two dollars for shipping then I can understand that but you’re not about to charge me eight dollars to $11 for shipping. but otherwise than that stupid thing that I don’t like about the app the app is pretty good.
It’s a good app but there is some things that needs to be fixed
I LOVE this app like a lot a go on it almost daily but there is some things that bother me a lot. So first I have multiple lists because I organize the things that I like by the type of clothing they are. But I think they should organize by alphabetical I think it would be a lot easier for the people like me to find the right list they are looking for. Also if they made the lists smaller when selecting the list you want I don’t think you would have to scroll so much. There is a problem that I have been experiencing quite a few times. When I’m going to look for an item on my lists not all of my lists load so I can’t find what I’m looking for. That is the major problem that I’m experiencing otherwise it’s just me being critical and annoyed. But otherwise I love shopping on this app. They have all these different stores on it that also come with discounts. Now I haven’t tried buying from the app yet so I’m not really sure how that works. I also like the story feature!! Where you can share you outfits that you bought from dote and share it with other people. I do recommend this app I just think that there is bugs that need to be fixed which is what happens with most apps. It is still in development and I know they are still improving it just a few recommendations on what you could do with the app!!
Everything wrong with this app
So I’ve had this app for about a year now and I feel I can give a brutally honest review. The app is terrible now compared to what I’ve started with. Before, they had all the good stores including Sephora (free shipping with no minimum!) and that’s the reason why I kept this app. Now that’s gone, I’m not even sure why I keep this app. Also, they’ve had some of my favorite stores removed from time to time and I absolutely dislike some of the stores on this app - just a personal preference. You could also try buying something for like $3 but they charge for every shipping individually for each store, so you could be buying a $3 item and pay 8$ shipping from one store, and another item worth like $5, only to pay around $11 cause of shipping. Talk about savings money - you’re actually are spending waaaay more than what you would pay for if you were to directly purchase it from the company’s website. They also have ZERO diversity on their platform. With all these, I feel the cons outweighs the pros, if there are even any. Often more than not, this app is BARELY updated. I remember seeing several companies, such as Lime Crime,!showing they had a sale going on on their website, but when going on the dote app, it doesn’t exist. It’s happened for several stores as well. Some things were out of stock but in the app it still shows, hence why the continuous canceled orders. Seriously. I don’t even know why this app has such good ratings.
