Super Fun and Cute! (Sometimes Hard)

I really love the cats and the challenge of solving it, but if I’m struggling to figure it out while the timer starts to blink I panic and then get frustrated. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure others love the challenge of beating it within the time frame, but sometimes it feels like there isn’t enough time or the puzzle got harder out of nowhere. Maybe a skill issue on my part. If you like challenges no matter what difficulty, then go for it! ☆ What I’d really love is to have a timer free mode, like how Bejeweled has a zen mode. It would be nice to just sit there, figure it out without the timer and watch cute cats jump around while solving it. Maybe you’d just earn 20 coins when you solve it, watch an ad for 25. Then maybe every other level you earn a fish. It’s just a suggestion but one I’d love to see added to the game, I’d play it all the time just to feed the cats while relaxing! ( ^ω^ )

lil disappointment
This game is really fun and has consumed my attention for around two/three weeks now. While it is adorable and really fun, there are things about it that makes a player frustrated. 1) The timer/level hardness is never consistent. They'll give you a ton of time for more simple levels, yet give you 1:05 for a level that easily requires 4 minutes. The hardness of a level does not always match with how it is marked. I find that I can get through the hard/very hard levels easier than some of the higher levels marked as normal. 2) The ads are incessant. I got fed up and paid the $8 to remove them, however I recognize that not everyone can do that so I must say that if I hadn't bought the ad-less version I would have deleted the app by now. 3) An untimed version of the game would be AMAZING! I truly hope the developers can work this into the game. Outside of these complaints, I truly do love this game. It is downloaded on all of my devices and I have gotten all of my friends to play it as well.

I really like Box Cat Jam so I was excited to see a similar but new game from the same developers. It’s definitely a lot of fun and a really well made game, but I guess Box Cat Jam maybe gave me some incorrect expectations because what I thought would be another chill puzzle game is actually very stressful. The timer can be insane in some of these levels, which can take away from the fun of actually solving the puzzle. And then just when you’re starting to get the hang of it after a few tries, your lives run out and don’t regenerate for ages. By then, I’ve usually forgotten the strategy I had started to figure out and need to start all over again. Idk I like some other reviewers suggestion of offering more time by watching an ad, because there are levels I’ve been stuck on for days at a time, which can be frustrating.

I downloaded the game despite seeing a lot of complaints about the timer in the reviews, and even just around 15 levels in, I see why.The first couple of levels give you a comical amount of time for the simplicity of the moves, but it ramps up. It becomes super stressful when you’re always on a timer, not relaxing or satisfying like I wanted, and I quickly found myself not having fun. I barely noticed the cute animations anymore when all I was thinking was how to clear the way to get a block across the board as quickly as possible.One of the most frustrating things is that the game shows you how a new ability works by making you use it once, and when you do, it *starts the timer* without giving you a chance to take a good overall look at the board. I wanted to restart the first time that happened because I realized too late that the timer had started, but it uses a “life.” A puzzle game should not give you LIVES.I got so tense playing that I decided to quit pretty early on since it wasn’t going to get better. It’s clear that they make it timed so that you have to use abilities that you need to buy later, and it limits the number of levels a player can get through, but I hope they can give an untimed mode in the future when they don’t need the money as badly because this isn’t the experience most of us want with a puzzle game featuring animated cats.
