Description

This App is a professional and efficient file index and search tool. It supports keyword searches, fuzzy searches, and various filters such as file size, change time, features on millisecond-level speed and minimal index size.

How to Use the App:
1. Add scan paths in the settings.
2. Manually start a scan to build the index. If you enable directory monitoring, you still need to manually scan at least once to build index; otherwise, some files might be missed.
3. Searching after Indexed: Once any content is indexed, you can search, even during the scanning process. But only indexed files will be found.
4. Turn on change monitoring for the specified paths, or manually re-scan to update the index as needed. Due to the underlying operating system mechanisms, when you close the app for a period and open again, changes during that time will typically be recognized and automatically updated. However, there’s a possibility of missing changes, so we recommend keeping the app running or manually triggering a scan to update the index when necessary.

Recommended Search Methods:
1. Large File Sets (1 Million+ Files): When dealing with a large number of files, it's generally recommended to use file extensions (e.g., mp4, mhtml) as keywords, followed by fuzzy searches for filenames, combine with file size and time filters for optimal speed and accuracy.
2. Smaller File Sets: For smaller file sets, fuzzy searching is usually sufficient. The best matched files will be shown in front. You can combine this with other filters as needed.

Supported Search and Filter Options:
1. Keyword Search: This search method is driven by it's own index and provides very fast search speeds. It performs strict keyword matches, but may occasionally miss searches due to subtle differences in keywords. In this case, consider using fuzzy search.
2. Fuzzy Search: Based on similarity matching of target fragments. It doesn’t have it's own index, but compare on file name one by one. This is slower than keyword search, but offers strong matching. Please note that fuzzy search results are initially sorted by similarity. If you enable other sorting methods, the similarity sorting will be disrupted. To improve precision, consider using a lower fuzzy percentage parameter.
3. Regular Expression Matching: Standard regular expression matching, similar to fuzzy search, it matches filenames individually. It is typically faster than fuzzy search.
4. File Size Filter: You can use expressions like "1mib", "1kib" to limit the size of the search results.
5. Time Filter (Change Time, Creation Time, Modification Time): Change time is calculated as the maximum of creation and modification times. You can use expressions like "1d", "2m", or specific times like "12-06", "2025-02-03" to limit the search results by time. Currently, the supported time units are: days-d, weeks-w, months-m, and years-y.
Note: Size and time filters are slower than keyword search, but faster than fuzzy search and regular expression matching. Therefore, using them appropriately can significantly improve search speed.

Combined Search Input Box Introduction:
This App includes a new combined search input box, which is enabled by default. You can manually turn it off. In this input box, you can use a combination of "Tab + : " together with commands to switch between search methods (note that the colon here is a half-width/English character). The default search method is keyword search, and the supported switch commands are: keyword "kw", fuzzy search "fz", regular matching "re", size filter "size", change time filter "time", creation time filter "created", modification time filter "modified".
Examples (In the examples, the 'Tab' needs to be a Tab key, not the text 'Tab'.): "Tab:kw abc" indicates a keyword search for "abc". "jpgTab:fzTababcTab:size 1mib" indicates a mixed search with a file extension of "jpg" as keyword, a fuzzy search fragment "abc", and a file size limit of "1mib".
