Software ok. But Marcus is rude.

I found the FT-Control software works ok but Marcus has blocked me from future correspondence. I have no other recourse other than to write about his rudeness here in a review. My question wasn't even related to the FT-Control software. I did mention however that I thought his version for Icom radios was better. That evidentally didn't sit well with him and he has blocked me from getting support. It's too late for me to get a refund, so now I'm stuck with software that he won't support because I am blocked? Strange. I'd think twice before buying his software.

As a follow up to Marcus's response, here is my exact verbage to Marcus that got me banned from support. Maybe there is a problem with translation? My comment was about the FTDX10 and not disrespecting his support/software. Yaseu's approach to remote control doesn't work as well as Icom. I even state in my message to him "nothing against your software". I wish he would relax, change his mind and allow me to use his software. I've invested $200 on both the Icom and Yaseu software.

"Hi Marcus,
I've kinda given up using the Yaesu FTDX10 and your software. Nothing against your software but it just doesn't work as well as with your ICOM SDR-Control software.

I would like to get your thoughts using your software. I've been looking at used prices on an Icom 7610 vs Flex 6700. What radio would you pick to work with your SDR-Control software?

Thanks!"

This was his response to my inquiry:

"Alan,

Very strange that you reject any help I want to give to get the App working.

You said "nothing against your software" then, in the same sentence say that it doesn't work. That's not just totally wrong, this is insane and not polite especially for a HAM to another HAM.

Keep in mind that my Apps are being used by thousands of users. None, I repeat none, has any problems using my Apps.

As said several times I can help but would need your help to (to answer my questions). But you rejected my help.

My conclusion is, that I don't want you as a customer. Please stay away from my Apps, don't write again and yes, please request a refund. I don't want your money.

Just in case you may listed at least to my last advice to you: Requests for a refund need to be directed to Apple. This is the only way to get a refund as this is where you bought the Apps.

Any further mail from you will get blocked.

Bye"

You need hardware

Make sure you have the $300 hardware for this to work at all. It's sad that he doesn't allow for refunds.

Developer Response ,

Terry, please contact me (using the Contact Developer feature inside the App) and we will find a solution.

You will of course need the US$300 SCU-LAN Interface (as mentioned several times in the App Store and the website) because YAESU hasn’t such an interface built into the Radio so you have to pay extra for this SCU-LAN Interface. Icom Radios and the newer Kenwood Radios have such an interface already built-in. So that’s rather a YAESU issue and I can fully understand if you don’t want to buy such an interface but then you can’t use your Radio with Apps like this one as they can’t interface with your Radio.
