Not all it's cracked up to be...

I'm a pilot, and I wanted something I could use to track my flight, which this program does just fine, but then be able to review it later. This program tracks the flight just fine by showing you a nice blue line on the map and telling you a position, altitude and speed IF you are looking at it during the actual tracking. When you complete the track and go to review it later it tells you nothing more then a date, that nice blue line again, duration ouf track and the distance traveled. You can't review you speed during different sections of the track, altitude, direction of travel or anything, just that nice blue line again. I'll give it to them for being able to track me precisely and draw a nice line in the map of my track traveled but what good is telling me the altitude, speed, heading and anything else it boasted to show if you can see none of them when reviewing each track, just the blue line drawn on the map? Obviously I'm not impressed and will be purchasing another program to do what this one should have.

I purchased on the recommendation of Tim Grey, a photographer and educator that I respect. Maybe it worked on his phone but on mine it randomly added points to my track that were thousands of feet away. Thought something might be wrong with the phone. Contacted Apple but no help there. Sent a support request to John Bafford but never received a response. Apparently John is happy to continue collecting money while not maintaining or supporting the app. Finally found PDF Maps which works great and showed there is nothing wrong with my phone.

Nice product. I used it on a kayaking trip today. I started the app, returned to the iPhone home screen, and put my phone in a waterproof case. When I got off the river five hours later, the app showed my path on a map and said I travelled 11.2 miles. It used less than 10% battery per hour running in background. I can export the track to my computer to import into a GPS program to see detailed info about the track. I also used it when touring a college campus. I could look at the track on the map and see which dorms and buildings I toured. Definitely worth purchasing.

Nice app except overstated distance

This app has a nice interface and is a good way to keep track of one's routes. The distance reported by this app seems to overstate the distance compared to a dedicated GPS device, but the distance reported by this app is comparable to that from another iPhone app I tried. Results should be more accurate if the tracking is paused when stationary--I gained 0.15 miles while taking a 35-40 minute break without pausing the app.

Improvements: * Add search filters for Any Tag and No Tag * Attempt to retry generating track thumbnails (such as if they don't initially render because you're offline) without restarting the app. Bug Fixes: * If there are no Recent Tracks widgets, do not schedule a background task to update. * Fix new track snapshots not always appearing immediately in the tracks list. * Fix possible unlikely crash when starting tracks. * Minor UI fixes and improvements.
