Okay, but there is one issue..
I wrote a previous 5-star review for Grammar-ly a few weeks ago, but since then have reconized an issue that I would like to bring up. The issue? SAME AND INNACURATE ERRORS!
I saw and read a 1-star review written by Dnev1551, and completely agree with what she/he has to say. Red lines underneath "errors" in my writing would pop up, and I would go and check it, but too frequently would the "error" be inaccurate. So, I would press "ignore", and SECONDS after I do that, that same red lines underneath the "error" would appear and the same suggestion would show up. What's the point of the "ignore" feature if the suggestion continously re-appears? It's extremely frusterating, and something I hope Grammar-ly employees fix.
However, the reason I didn't give this app 1 star like Dnev1551 and many others did is because Grammar-ly does provide synonyms that make my writing better--oops, not "better"--richer. (See? That feature is super handy!). Also, some corrections are accurate, and do not reappear, which is another reason why this app does not get 1 or 2 stars from me, nor 4 or 5, but 3. Feels right to me.
Thank you for reading my review. I hope this comes in handy :). Have a wonderful rest of your day!
Battery Hog and Takes up Too Much Screen Space
The program is crippled and I wish they would fix it. First, the program takes up WAY to much screen space. I like to write with the app in 1/2 of the screen and safari on the other 1/2. I'm on a 15" MBP. But Grammarly won't let me reduce the screen below 75%. It's stupid. Makes no sense whatsoever. Second, I don't need it constantly checking my work because this kills the battery. Let me write, then enable a feature when I'm done to have it check my work. That would save so much battery life. Until these features are implemented, my review stands at 3 stars.
I think she would be proud of me now...
Grammar never was easy, nor that successful for me in my school years, especially high school. My English teacher's name was Miss Cassia. She was a great person and a fantastic educator that I realized when getting help from her after school. She and the football coach had an agreement. At the start of practice, running and calisthenics, she would work with me, with my uniform on in the library every day before practice. While we communicated about English, I did my warm-ups at the same time. I'll never forget her. To this day, I think of her when I am writing. I ended up being a creative director in advertising. I'd like to think she would be proud of me and her efforts, allowing me to communicate effectively.
