Description
From the makers of Pokémon GO, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is the real-world augmented reality (AR) game inspired by the Wizarding World that puts magic in the hands of players worldwide. Harry Potter: Wizards Unite is co-developed and co-published by Niantic, Inc. and WB Games San Francisco as part of Portkey Games, a label dedicated to creating new Wizarding World mobile and video games inspired by J.K. Rowling's original stories that place players at the center of their own adventure.
Realize Your Wizarding Potential
A calamity has befallen the wizarding world, causing Foundables—magical artefacts, creatures, people, and even memories—to mysteriously appear in the Muggle world. As a new recruit of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force, you’ll work with witches and wizards from across the globe to solve the mystery of The Calamity and keep magic safe from Muggle eyes.
The Magic Is All Around You
As you step outside and explore the world, the Map will reveal Traces of magic that indicate the location of Foundables. These Traces are found at various real-world locations and trigger richly detailed 3D encounters in full 360-degree advanced AR. You’ll need to cast a variety of spells to defeat the confounding magic surrounding the Foundables in order to safely return them to the wizarding world. Keep an eye out for other things that will aid you on your journey including Inns that replenish Spell Energy, ingredients that can be used to brew potions, and even Portkeys that can whisk you away to iconic wizarding world locations.
Stronger United
Gather your friends to take on even bigger magical feats such as Wizarding Challenges, real-time cooperative multiplayer battles against dangerous foes. To overcome the stronger threats and discover rarer Foundables, you’ll need to team up and strategize with your fellow witches and wizards and specialize in different magical Professions—Auror, Magizoologist, and Professor—that each have their own unique skills and abilities that come in handy at different times.
Ready your wand, alert your friends, and be ready to protect the wizarding world from a global calamity. Your Wizarding adventure awaits!

Ratings and Reviews
A lot of fun, especially for HP fans, but needs work.
I started playing the game when it first came out. The creators have made many improvements over the last few months, but there are still quite a few bugs that need to be worked out. I have sent several messages about Confoundables being “whisked away by magic” and it seems to happen more frequently since the last update (and it seems to happen more frequently with the higher level Foundables). I’ve also experienced a lot of freezing, mostly in certain areas, which I have sent several messages about. The worst part is the disappearing and freezing happen after I’ve used potions and a lot of energy. Lastly, when I reached level 30, the game said Confoundables would be easier to overpower. I have found this to be the exact opposite. If anything, I am using more energy (even when casting multiple Great and Masterful spells). Before this latest update, though, I absolutely loved playing the game. It was a lot of fun, I walked so much more, and my family and I have spent more time together than we ever have before (we’re also Pokemon Go players). I just hope that the creators can fix these issues soon because we stopped playing Pokémon Go for a couple of years (after it first came out) because of some frustrating problems with the game. I don’t want to have to stop playing Wizards Unite, but I’m also not going to keep spending money to play when it’s more frustrating that fun.
Fantastic game, just two gripes
I love the game mechanics, I think they’re brilliant, especially the fight sequences. The UI is easy to understand and navigate, and collecting items and such is a breeze. Which brings me to my first bit of criticism; the vaults. I’ve had to pass up rare items just because my vault was full, so I constantly have to use coins to make more powerful potions. I just wish we could get at least 25 slots extra in a future update, even that would be a huge life saver. My second bit of criticism, which, I’m 100% positive has everyone irked, is the spell energy. The nearest inn to me is a half a mile away, and as a teenager who spends most days sleeping in, I don’t have the stamina to walk there. I kid you not when I say that I almost fainted on the walk back home because I was so desperate for spell energy. I shouldn’t have to pass out on the sidewalk for such a minuscule amount of spell energy. Some people are even more unlucky, with the nearest inn being 2+ miles away. I saw a suggestion in a review saying that there should be a potion for increasing spell energy, which a great idea! If we can have potions that increase spell power, why not spell energy? But I’m far too obsessed with Harry Potter to quit playing, and I’m positive Niantic understands that many players feel the same way and that’s why they won’t change. But I would be SO much more active in this if ONLY spell energy was easier to obtain and ingredients easier(?) to store.
Very fun, but could use some tweaks
I really enjoy playing this game...it’s fun, I enjoy the story line, picking a profession, and all that stuff. However, there are a few things that I think would make the game significantly better. 1) It’s been said by many already—spell energy. Can their be other ways to obtain this? Specifically for people in rural areas where inns and greenhouse and few and far between. Can we earn like 1 spell energy every 30 minutes or something? It would be awesome to be able to wake up with a full energy bank each day, and would also make me want to play the game more frequently because I know that I could. 2) Can Masterful casts actually mean something? It’s pretty stupid that a low level threat can resist a masterful cast. What’s the point in trying to get a masterful cast if all you get is XP? There is literally no other perk, as it doesn’t at all seem to affect your likelihood of capturing a foundable. I have defeated a high level threat on a “good” cast, but had a low level threat depart after a masterful cast? Seems stupid and pointless to have casting ability only count toward XP. 3) Storage. I know this has been said by others as well, but it’s annoying to constantly have to delete ingredients/potions...particularly if you’re trying to stock up for a Wizard battle. I realize this is to make people spend actual money buying coin to increase their storage, but it really makes me want to play the game less...not more.
