This has been wonderful. My 95 year old grandma lives with me and she is considered “deaf with hearing aids”. She has not always been this way and lost her hearing as she got older. The doctor said the bones in her ears do not vibrate anymore and there is nothing they can do. She does have some dementia and macular degeneration so learning sign language was not an option. I searched through several speech to text apps and this one is by far the best for us. She is able to clearly read what we are saying and can adjust the size of the font and also text to correct any misspellings that happen to appear. She goes to a day center while I work and the doctor and staff there have downloaded the app so they can communicate with her more easily. Before she was using a small dry erase pad or a notepad and it gets tiresome for us writing everything down. Thanks so much for this free app! It has made a big difference in my grandmother’s quality of life.

This app has made things much easier for me. Going to Dr appts and other places that I really need to hear what’s being said does not worry me anymore. I get my phone out and set it down and it’s just easy to use because there’s not a lot of things to have to figure out for the other person The only thing I have to say must if the time is you have to hold the button pressed because they always just tap it That’s not even a complaint but it’s the k my thing I can think of that might possibly make it any better Thanks for a great and useful app!

I downloaded this app to be able to communicate with my husband and it works really great. I appreciate that it doesn’t pick up the Television while I am speaking. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because you have to hold down the button while talking. I will get used to this, I’m sure, and it’s not terrible. Also, if you accidentally tap the screen it brings up the keyboard. I don’t feel the need to go back and correct anything, I just repeat that word. Some of those mistakes are pretty funny.

My husband refuses to get hearing aids. Our communication with each other was frustrating. Writing down everything I wanted to communicate to him was aggravating not to mention time consuming. Hearing Helper has made a big difference. I can easily talk into my speaker and it prints out my words on my phone which I then hand to my husband. Because I have the font larger, he easily can read it. It’s been a lifesaver. Wish I had found this app sooner.
