Capture your thoughts instantly and rediscover them effortlessly!
Highland is the place for anything that goes through your mind. Simply open the app, write down that thought you just had and close the app again. Don't bother with adding tags or categories or maintaining a complex folder structure. Highland will take care of that in the background and help you find it again at the right time (Please note that you have to subscribe to the Premium plan to do this).
Instead of relying on ever-growing, overwhelming lists of thoughts that you will never get to revisit, Highland encourages you to only look at small, focused subsets of thoughts that are relevant or actionable to you in the moment. Want to revisit thoughts about that vacation in Japan you've been planning? Want to review some old, forgotten journal entries? Want to be cheered up by some recent positive reflections? Highland has got you covered!
Based on your behavior and other context clues, Highland will also suggest semantically relevant content for you, making it easy to revisit past thoughts.
Highland uses generative AI to help annotate and understand your thoughts, but most of that happens behind the scenes. Its job is to be your assistant and help you find and work with your thoughts. It is not meant to be in the spotlight.
[Easy Capture]
Adding a new thought is intentionally simple and fast. You have a single text field and a save button. That's it! Don't get distracted by all those buttons and knobs to label or categorize your draft. Simply write down your thought and be done with it.
[Simple Interface]
Highland has no central "list" view where you can find all of your thoughts. That's by design! When you open the app, you won't see the overwhelming amount of thoughts you've captured but never got the time to resolve. Instead, you simply query small lists of thoughts tailored to what you want to get done in the moment.
[Semantic Searches]
Highland helps you find thoughts not by scrolling through a list or searching for specific text content (although you can also do that!), but rather through semantic queries focused on the meaning or intent of the purpose. Find thoughts that express excitement, fear, gratitude or revisit ideas you had about the project you've been working on.
[No Account Needed]
Launch the app and you're good to go! There is no sign up, you can use the app entirely anonymously.
[Data is Stored Locally]
All of your data is stored locally, on your device. It is backed up and synchronized via your personal iCloud storage, to which only you have access. The app's backend will never record your thoughts!
[No Tracking]
Beyond basic, anonymized usage telemetry (which you can turn off!), Highland does not track any sensitive or identifying information! I don't want your data, I wouldn't know what to do with it, anyways.
[Highland Premium]
You have to subscribe to the Premium plan in order to fully use the app and create new thoughts. This is necessary because of the cost of the generative AI that makes all of the described features possible.
