Description

The astrology parenting playbook: your birth chart + your kids’ charts, daily and weekly horoscopes for all of you, and deep-dive parenting guides all about you and them.

STAR/CHILD is the only astrology app just for parenting. It’s a complete parenting playbook based on their unique astrological chart and yours. Here’s what you get to work with:
* Your full birth chart along with an extensive and highly specific analysis of what each of your placements has to say about your parenting style — and what your kids’ charts have to say about what exactly they’re likely to need most from you in order to thrive.
* Downloadable guides that go in deep (we mean super deep) on what your Sun, Rising, and Moon signs — don’t worry, we’ll tell you what those are if you don’t know — say about your parenting superpowers, how you emotionally process things, what parts of life with kids might be challenging for you, and how to deal with all of it.
* Daily horoscopes for you and each of your kids that take everything happening up in the sky and translate it into the essential things you need to know to make the most of your parenting life on any given day.
* Daily audio readings to give you the quick, 1-minute essential rundown of the day: what's the vibe, what to expect, and how to make the most of it.
* Weekly audio astrology previews to take you deep into the coming week's astrology and what it means for life with kids (and life in general).
* Whole Sky horoscopes to show you where every planet, luminary, and node are in the sky on any given day: what sign they're in, what house they're in for you specifically, and what you need to know about each transit.
* Seasonal guides every month. Every time the Sun is about to change signs — about once a month — we’ll send you a preview of what’s going to happen during the upcoming season, and how it’s likely to show up in your life with kids.
* Transit guides. Is Mercury about to be retrograde (again)? Is Saturn changing signs? Then things are shifting in the sky, we’ll send you everything you need to know to work with the moment.
* Yearly previews. And of course, every year, we’ll compile the essential, must-know rundown of all the major astrological moments of the year ahead and break them down into the important takeaways for parents.

Your kid isn’t like anyone else. This is your super-detailed guidebook to parenting them, specifically. Just as they are, just as you are, explained by the astrology of the moment you were born, and every moment you’re living in now.

The value is in the details

It’s the details for me. Yes, the user interface makes the experience smooth and easy. Yes, the graphics and art are beautiful. But it’s the level of detail in the content where this app stands out — and, obviously, that’s what you really want from a service like this. The forecasts blew me away with how much they tell you and the depth they go into. They’re full of thought-provoking ideas that I’m sure will prompt a lot of opportunities for self-reflection and learning. Will be excited to see what comes next.

In the early stages but exciting

I have been excited for this app to release since I learned about it on Instagram months ago. I love the UX/UI. The price seems steep - with a basic/free account only giving you info on your big 3 - but it’s a small team of people who deserve living wages. The guides are deep and detailed, with helpful little mantras sprinkled in. I find the content helpful and fresh, but a little redundant. The “this week” and “this season” overviews are long and in depth - depending on the day, this is a plus, sometimes it can feel overwhelming. I would suggest making the dates (ex. Tues, 3/19:) under “key moments” bold, to distinguish them better for the reader and separate the heavy flow of text. Further suggestions: I would include the ability to add a co-parent, a synastry section to see how your placements directly interact with your child’s - as right now, it’s siloed per individual, and possibly an educational or engaging section for your child - whether it’s geared toward astrological insights or mindfulness and self-awareness (this could just be the guides but written for them in a digestible language).

Hey! We hear you, and thanks for reaching out and generally being psyched about what we're doing. It's early days, and feedback like this is legit how we are going to make this app as good as it can be. Let's address your technical stuff first: you were dealing with a bug in that version of the app -- if you update your app to the latest version, you should be all good. If you still have problems, please email us and we will immediately dig into it. But I'm pretty sure updating your app will do it!

And regarding the cost: Honestly, we would give up all the content for free if we could figure out a way to do so and still pay our team to create it. We're a small company, totally not backed by investors — just a team of astrologers, writers, and designers trying to make something beautiful. No investors or big corporations are out here getting rich off our users' $15/month. It's just how we put food on our tables. Everyone on our team is paid a super healthy living wage, and to do that, we have to charge for the app. We simply would not ask anyone to work for less than they're worth. Thank you so much for the kind words about how beautiful the app is! We humbly agree! We hope you'll understand that we creating all this content (and just running the app) is not cheap...at all. Hopefully that gives you some context! If you want to discuss further, we're genuinely very happy to talk further! hello@starchild.app. You won't get a random customer service person if you email there — our actual founder Jessica (hi, that's me, writing this) will get back to you.

I love it, but…

I really love it. It has some amazing insights. It’s a pretty aesthetic and intuitive app. The information is also some of the best. Loving that.

My issue is how often the app kicks me out. Since I have multiple kiddos, sometimes I have to go back to the app a few times a day to get all the info. I have to log in almost every time (when there is a gap of a few hours) and every single morning. It’s frustrating, and it’s making me rethink paying for this app. The content is AMAZING. But when it takes too many steps to get to said content, it’s a bummer. I also tried finding a “help” area in the app that I could communicate the issue directly with the people who develop the app, but I couldn’t find anything.

Hey! We had a bug for a minute, but it's fixed now. You definitely shouldn't have this problem again! If you update your app, you should be in good shape!
