Few glitches but it works well
I certainly would’ve been annoyed if I paid $4 for this app. Been testing it out and it occasionally has connection issues where it says no devices are paired. But generally works overall. I love the watch app. It is pretty solid… Actually a lot smoother than the iOS app. The only app I have tried like this is Mac ID and that one is horrible. I would not recommend it as it doesn’t work at all and they claim it is Apple’s fault.
UPDATED ... Failed to connect and ...
MacLock UPDATED to work between all devices. Kudos to a responsive developer who didn't make excuses, but who instead did fix the problems.
Now, MacLock works as promoted and does so nicely. A convenient app to use to make a repetitive task simpler.
... on the iPhone 6S and iPad 2 4th generation (iOS 9.1 Beta 4 and, previously, Beta 3), "Searching for Computers" with "No computers connected" followed by the app crashing.
... on the Mac (OSX El Capitan), "Looking for Devices" is always shaded and "Check for Update" results in a dialogue box stating "Update error!".
No connection has been successfully made since the initial installation, removal, and re-install.
No acknowledgement of an eMail sent identifying the problem and providing device, OS, and details of steps taken to attempt to have the app function or any other reply from the in-the-app feedback contact.
Excellent concept with an apparent failed execution.
I was looking for a fingerprint reader for Mac, which are about as rare as hen teeth, when I started thinking since my iPhone has a fingerprint reader is there an app to use my phone to login to Macs? Sure enough here it is. Hope in the future they add Mac Safari/Firefox web browser passwords too. That would be very nice addition.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
